Nate, I have a question for you. My dad says that the only way to let me download the bootlegs is to have permission from the band. I was wondering if you have the contact information for the band. Thanks a bunch Danger101

Unlike a lot of sites out there, I have no contacts within or anywhere near the band. The closest I got to them was when they drove past me in a van on their way out of the arena after the show in Salt Lake City in 2001. I also don't know anyone within the management, record label, productions staff etc, but would be more than happy to be introduced to them in some way. :)

Hey Danger, Brian lives in Florida, you might have some luck there. No seriously, you might have some luck going down to Florida and seeing if you run into him. PS: Some of the stuff on Plug Me In was bootleg sourced. Most notably, Japan 1981's footage. It's all VHS there.

I still do it, only on my moms account. I have a bunch of torrents stockpiled up so when I get my laptop, I can have a lot of stuff. Do torrents go bad after a while? Could I try to contact the band through the record label (send it in there care?)

Torrents go dead after a while. People stop seeding...trackers might fall (ex. Demonoid), etc.

Well what i know is a bootleg illegal. So if we share these things it will not become legal. Even if some footages had been used for Plug me in. But the law might be different in USA then in Eurpe/Germany. Beginn 1990 there was one point with the European Union. From one day to another it was legal to buy and sell Bootlegs in Germany due to the new law. You ccould find 2 or 3 year many great boots in shops. But they must state that the recording was in USA. Don't know why but that why there is on some CD's a wrong label like Osaka for example. Mid 1990 is was stopped again and it is normal now. (Illegal)

Yeah. Bootlegs, just like pirated recordings, are illegal. All I know is, people still make bootlegs. (Masterplan DVDs anyone? I own one.) What makes it operate in a grey area though is, the bands that allow recording, and the bands that are indifferent. Take, for example, the Hayseed Dixies of the world. They could care less about the concert recordings as long as you don't sell them. Their quote on selling bootlegs (and pirated copies of their music) is "it could result in a full-on east Tenn. ass-whooping." Hayseed Dixie plainly state on their site that they allow recording as well. Now an AC/DC on the other hand acknowledges the existance of bootlegs, and even has used bootlegged (well, I should say "not recorded by AC/DC or the label") copies of concerts. They do not explicity condone nor condemn the act of live recording, but their labels may not feel the same. They also acknowledge the fact that they cannot stop every bootleg, and if they tried, their first priority, the making and playing of rock music, would suffer. Keep in mind that this post is partially based on theory and that I am, in no way, connected to either AC/DC, Hayseed Dixie, or any of their labels. I am merely a fan.

Also almost every European country don't give a rats ass about bootlegging. Especially here in Greece if i go to the police station with a bootleg in my hand they will probably try to record it too. The fact is that bootlegs are not official and not everyone can acquire them so if i have one (downloaded) , how do i steel from the band, if i cannot buy the same stuff from it's company label?. The other fact is that your government (USA) is obsessed with this nonsense and they try to stuff it to you and the mind of your parents. Damn, every time i read stuff from people that live in USA....Ohhh should i do thattt? Maybe i could go to jaaaillll. What the f^ck is wrong there people? Can't you wake up and give the middle finger to your system? For gods shake!

sapator, we live in the country where whenever Mickey Mouse is threatened with the oh-so-deadly release into the public domain, Disney pulls out their lawyers and get the copyright laws extended here. They spend so much time on copyright laws and not enough on real issues like actually running a country. If the lawmakers spent less time fighting over issues such as copyrights and steroids in MLB maybe the damned economy wouldn't be so tore up. I'm beginning to think if this keeps on going on, Canada would look very pleasing.

Ok once more maybe you did not really get my point. In beginn 90 - to mid 90 it was LEGAL to sell and buy Boots in Germany/Europe. There was something in the Europeans bladibla don't know exactly. Now is is ILLEGAL in Europe and USA and???. I do not say it is impossible.

Bah bullocks. I have a store 5 minutes from my house that is selling LP and CD boots and a couple more downtown.Theoretically it's illegal but practically it's not. Even if you take a look at ebay, they leave boot trades to pass "under the table". If are talking about the legislation then ,yes, but practically...

Well don't leave your country mate. You have more wealth than the average countries but a little fight back to the system?. P.E. A download of an AC/DC gig and the volume to the max will make your parents a little crazy :) (you got Angus permittion for this download, i promise) . Of course the song will be Problem Child :)) Oh and then ask polite to let you go to the AC/DC gig near you. If they refuse you can go heavier (Big gun, This means war etc). If they still refuse then the final solution is....Cannibal Corpse!!!!With an intro of a Spice girls song :)
