What Bootleg Do I Have?
Setlist (Audio) 1. Live Wire 2. Problem Child 3. Sin City 4. Bad Boy Boogie 5. The Jack 6. Rocker Notes 1. This was traded to me over a year ago as Oakland 1978 which would have been July 23 or September 2. 2. It is definitely NOT Cleveland July 28, 1979. 3. At the beginning of track 2 it sounds like Bon says Los Angeles and then some other word. Then he says "This ones called Bad... ... whoo, it's not called that at all. It's called Problem Child". 4. At the end of track 3 Bon talks about the Highway To Hell album then there is an audio skip. In other words, something is missing. Then they play Bad Boy Boogie. 5. If I had to guess, I would say this is Oakland Sept.5, 1979, missing Highway To Hell. 6. Oddly enough the Oakland 7/23/78 and 9/2/78 are listed with the same setlist. Back in those days they rarely if ever played the same setlist so I am also curious if they even exist. 7. I would rate the quality as good.
after having a wee swatch at my collection and conferring with a few knowledgable friends, I woulld have to agree with you bud, going by the description you give,it sounds like you have 1979-09-05 Oakland there. As you say it is a good boot and hope you enjoy as much as I do SET YOUR MIND TO FLY cheers bud Dave
Thanks for the info, Dave. Now if I could find out if anything exists from the Oakland 1978 dates (confirmed and not mislabled) the mystery wiill be solved. Oh and happy birthday. I'm sure Bon and Bing got together to toast you and sing duets.
Mystery solved. It's Philadelphia August 5, 1979. Thanks to viper for the upload. I now have identified the bootleg and got the missing song Highway To Hell. Makes me wonder why they didn't play it 8 days earlier at Cleveland. Same setlist otherwise.
