MP3 Troubles

I have a used Creative Zen Vision :M 30 Gb Mp3 player. I bought it for $10, because it was broke. I have fixed it, and my computer recognizes it, and the player turns on. I can scroll up and down all day, but I can't make selections. I was wondering if any of the "techies" here know what to do. Thanks Danger101

That could be any number of issues...do you know if it's flash drive, or mini hard drive?

I'm a little technical, but here is the least technical respone I'm gonna give ever: Ditch the thing and buy a new one, or at least a used one that you didn't pay $10 for. Sorry, but that's the way I see it, you bought a ten buck used mp3 player, and got what you spent. Now, if you really want it fixed, just try to take it apart, and see if any of the PCBs (chip boards) are broke. I'm sure there are people out there who can provide a better response than me.

my advice: BUY AN IPOD i know theres abunch of ipod haters out there cuz they dont like itunes, BUT all you have to do is get a lil program called Anapod Explorer when using Anapod Explorer you can access ur ipod as if it were jus another drive on your computer (drag and drop, in and out).. the EASIEST thing ever

I had a problem with a GameBoy Advance one time where the left d-pad button wouldn't work. I took it apart (not an easy task with Nintendo's weird screws) and couldn't figure out what was wrong. My guess is that it's broken beyond repair, and you can scroll, and your computer recognizes, but it won't respond to that button.

Heheheh... I am one of those IPod haters... The Creative Zen Vision is a great little machine, and came in the 30 or 60GB versions. I have a Zen V Plus which is only 4GB but I love it and have been looking at the new ones in either the 8 or 16GB version which can be had for just over $100 for the 8GB version if you shop around, as well as not only can you load in Itunes music now, it will support other formats as well and the Media Explorer and playlists you can do are great. The Zen screen is 16.7 million color screen and a huge 2.5" screen for the size of the player, as well as has expandable memory slot, so you can have unlimited about of tunes and media and just swap out as need. So compared to the Nano... Bigger screen and twice teh storage for the price. I just like the fact too that I have more support for the music formats that I can load and the playlist functionality.

I dont really mind iPods, but when 90% of kids at my school have one, and a Motorola Razr, I want to do something different. Everybody on the planet seems to have a Razr. I have the new zen 8gb and It is really great. No probelms, and love the expandable memory. Before Spring Break I loaded a 4gb mem. card all with AC/DC and listened to it all. Its really great. The one downside is that if you are listening to the mem card, and you turn it off, you have to start over. That and it doesnt integrate with the players memory. Any other advice?
