I heard it's something relating to the vocal line. Some people say the vocals remind them of Back In Black-era stuff.

Speaking of Big Gun, there is a collection of "unreleased music" from Doom (yeah, the original first person shooter). Well, I've found said collection of MIDI files, found that one file in particular sounds like Big Gun, here it is, ripped over to MP3 using Audacity to make it easier to play. It's weird though, we all know it sounds like Big Gun, but it cuts short, and isn't exactly the same as the official Big Gun. Doom Unreleased Music track un44.mid = AC/DC's Big Gun

Last action hero soundtrack was my 2nd cd ever. The cd was waaay better than the movie. Check some tracks: 1. "Big Gun" - (AC/DC) 2. "What the Hell Have I - (Alice in Chains) 3. "Angry Again" - (Megadeth) 4. "Real World" - (Queensr˙che) 5. "Two Steps Behind" - (Def Leppard) 6. "Poison My Eyes" - (Anthrax) 7. "Dream On" - (Aerosmith) 11. "Last Action Hero" - (Tesla) – 5:44 Even Aerosmith that i think way overrated and "cannot play a proper solo" guys have one of, if not the best track from their songs.

Sounds like Big Guns was definitely the basis... I would just consider it a "midi cover" of the song.

The midi is mentioned in Big Gun's Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Gun

"I heard it's something relating to the vocal line. Some people say the vocals remind them of Back In Black-era stuff. " I'm trying to figure out the logic of these two statements. Is there a relationship between them, such as "The vocal lines remind people of Back in Black, so AC/DC don't want to play it"? It might be that what travis means is the vocal line is too hard for Brian to sing night after night, but with that sort of logic, they should have given up Shoot to Thrill long ago as Brian has not reached the necessary levels for those vocal lines since 1985-86. I, for one, would love to hear this song live.

The deal with Shoot To Thrill is, it's one of Angus's favorite songs to play. Also, Big Gun seems a bit like it'd be hard to keep the sound consistent, it's a bit like Heatseeker in my opinion, just a bit heavier.

"Big Gun" I believe would be easier than "Shake A Leg". That song is a vocal chord killer. Still I can see where the power some of the section of "Big Gun" could do serious damage. On a side note... Do any of the tribute bands do these well? Do them at all?

I thought Shoot to Thrill sounded great on the 1991 tour, and I considered Brian's voice not too hoarse by that stage of his career (especially compared with say his performance in Munich in 2001).
