Heey Travis, thx for your honest reply man .. why havent we heard bout them yet? These guys are not signed with a label yet, thats the next step. For an unsigned band its hard of course to get radio airplay or media attention or good gigs .. They are doing awesome in the UK and Scotland though and have supported bands like Nazareth and Bad Company several times if ya like em send them a myspace message they would love that i reckon and spread the word if ya will cheers and keep on rockin ! pascal

Well, I have commented them (and they commented back!) The comment said "Glad ur likin the tunes man!! we should be heading over your way early next year for a good few shows!! Keep in touch cos we've got some brand new tracks coming soon!! Catchya man Jeeves" According to their MySpace, they are signed to a label (possibly indie) and they have some dates with Nazareth (are you serious?!) coming up. I'm sure that they'll be hitting it big if they come to the states and do a tour with Airbourne, cause they have a pretty similar sound.

Yeah Wired Desire were the official support on Nazareth's 40th Anniversary tour in the UK back in February .. they have built up a good relationship with em Funny you mention Airbourne .. Airbourne knows bout Wired Desire they have their EP. Both the band and I as a big fan have been talking to Airbourne personally to try and get a support slot but although Airbourne seem to like Wired Desire, it hasnt developed into an actual support slot yet. But Airbourne are developing themselves to a big level very quickly, so a lot of bands want to support them now of course, which makes it harder and harder to arrange it I find Wired Desire more a mixture between Aerosmith and Guns N Roses, sleazeball rock .. Airbourne reminds me more of ACDC, straight on Aussie pub rock. Both styles are awesome ! Besides Airbourne and Wired Desire, theres a third band who is awesome: have you heard of Irish rockers The Answer? (www.theanswer.ie)

Only listened to a few of the songs they had streaming online... Wired Desire reminds me a lot of Motley Crue. Definitely will be checking out Airbourne and The Answer

dlaskey, Airbourne is a really good rock band from Australia. (Wait, doesn't that describe another band around here? :looks around suspiciously: Nah, can't be.)

I for one think music is too limited by geographic/political boundaries. Another thing that limits music is genre labels. What's wrong with a rocker who also happens to be a county boy? I think we have quite a few southern-bred rockers (Lynyrd Skynyrd, .38 Special, Allman Brothers, Jackyl, The Black Crowes, etc.) who could hold their own in a rock duel. Let me see, Free Bird is perhaps one of the most famous solos, as well as Whole Lotta Rosie, Enter Sandman, Feuer Frei!, and a few other songs.

I was huge into the Allman Brothers in my college days. Was more of Whipping Post, One Way Out than Memory of Elizabeth Reed. Southern Rock was definitely its own breed. Only thing I didn't like about the "recreated" Skynyrd was when I saw them in 90 or 91, they did Freebird as an instrumental tribute... Still was decent, but having the vocals and the build before the solo really adds to it I think. But back to the ABB, Duane was a phenomenal guitarist who would be up there today, and Dicky had his moments when he wasn't sauced and in rehab. Eat a peach I guess

I heard there was riot that forced Johnny Van Zant to sing Freebird. He initially didn't want to because it was his brother's signature song. But I think all bands have at least one member who has had his moments, even AC/DC had Phil Rudd and Malcolm Young's time off.

It can be a tough call. I know for me I love "Long Way to the Top"... It probably still is one of my all time favorites... Just love the friggin pipes in there as well, and I can see how that really was a Bon song and understand why they don't play it... whether it is out of respect as well as I don't know if Brian can play the pipes. "Freebird" is such an iconic song, as well as I think symbolic in so many ways. I mean the first words: "If I leave here tomorrow would you still remember me" Then again, irony was so much of Skynyrd. "Street Survivors" the album released before the crash had the band walking out of flames... and the song on the album, 'That Smell' :" oh that smell. Can't you smell that smell. The smell of death surrounds you." Not sure the length between the album release and the crash, but that is sort of eerie up there with the Allman Brothers and Duane Allman and Berry Oakley both having fatal motorcycle crashes on the same stretch of road almost a year apart, give or take 2 weeks and 3 blocks... (ASIDE: Just love "Whipping Post" off of the Filmore East Album and the opening "Berry starts her off..." before that legendary bass riff. Can't say much about the riot story... but to me Skynyrd without "Free Bird" would be like the Allman's without "Whipping Post"

Now that you mention irony, the last known recording of Bon Scott's in the jam version of "Ride On", recorded and just over a week later he died. Also, country singer Hank Williams having his version of a song called "Lost Highway" and then him being found literally frozen to death in the back of his car on a road. The irony in the dead singers and songs they have recorded is insane.
