A FEW RARE YOUTUBE GEMS
Heres a few vids not many people would have seen before: Sin City (Live 1985 - Unknown Location) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufRbF2Tmjew Whole Lotta Rosie (Live at Donington 1984 PRO SHOT) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1de2AS-SvQ enjoy!
Those things are insane. The Sin City clip is great. Why wasn't something from that concert on Plug Me In? Huh? But that Sin City clip captures AC/DC with Brian Johnson at its rawest. You get Brian in his blue jean jacket, Angus, well, runnin' wild, and you even see Malcolm and Cliff and Simon's hands. And here's a link for the Sin City clip: Rapidshare.com
WOW AMAZING But funny somehow. Did anybody notice that a few months before and a few months after Plug me in was released quite some concert clips and video interviews appeard on youtube.
I´m pretty sure that Sin City is from Joe Louis Arena Sep 19, 1985.
Definitely NOT from Detroit. I'm guessing Philadelphia on September 7, 1985. DirtyEye, this one is on your trade list. Can you confirm?
I can 100% confirm that the Sin City one was filmed in Philly on Sep. 07th 1985. Got the informatons from a reliable source.
was SIn City a pro shot? if not, thats the best audience recording ive ever seen
It looks like a professional quality camera. It can't be an amateur camera and get that type of quality in the mid-80s. So Sin City is from Philly?
must have a wealthy bootlegger. if it was filmed professionally, why did they choose that angle to film at
Might not have been a bootlegger. Might have been filmed for a potential use as a live concert film, but was scrapped and the other angles/songs still sealed away. I heard that there was a rumor that a live album could've been done in 1985. Concert film as well? Or it could've been filmed by a member of security or AC/DC's road crew, which explains why he was even half able to get that angle. When's the last time you saw somebody who was able to get that angle successfully?
There could be many reasons why this gem has such a brilliant quality: - roadie recording, known one is Cleveland, OH 1979 which has also has been filmed by roadies - rarely played master recording of an VHS or beta, small note: beta had better quality than VHS - single shot for local TV Station, employees mght found it in the archives and so on...
Going with your theories Dirty Eye, and considering the rest of the concert hasn't appeared yet, it might be a rarely played master recording by a TV station. It seems most logical since it could be a TV station that isn't just an affiliate of a network, like FOX, ABC, NBC (all those here in the US). Sometimes TV stations talk to security and ask if they could film one or two songs for potential use in a broadcast review of the concert. Security would be ok with giving permission for one or two songs since most people would not buy a tape with only one song on it. But I have heard that thing about Beta having "betta" (bad joke) quality than VHS. Wasn't it made by Sony?
Here's another little thing. Professional grade cameras have higher quality microphones than amateur grade cameras as well. So that explains the better sound.
Thanks Ligh1782 for pointing us in the right direction to this sweet Sin City video. Very cool!!!
