AC/DC’S Black Ice set for release October 20th
The following message was sent from Ac/dc's official facebook group to all members just now: Columbia Records announced today the October 20th release of AC/DC's widely-anticipated Black Ice, the band’s first studio album in eight years. Black Ice features 15 new tracks from brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams, and Phil Rudd. The album was produced by Brendan O’Brien at the Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC. “Rock 'N' Roll Train,” the album’s first single, will debut on August 28th. The video will premiere in September. And the band is set to kick off its first world tour since 2001 in late October. Black Ice will be sold in the U.S. exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club retail locations at the special price of $11.88. Online, the CD will be available with free shipping and handling via the band’s website, www.acdc.com. It will also be sold at Walmart.com and Samsclub.com. For one your first two posts, it's a massive post. One thing I'm a little curious on though, none of the dates mentioned are a Tuesday, the traditional day in which record labels release new material (Thursdays are usually the day in which movies are released). Maybe they are trying for an unusual release pattern on the CD due to the Wal-Mart deal (Garth Brooks released a 5 disc DVD set on a Wednesday through Wal-Mart). But $11.88, that'll mean it's actually a little less for what you get than iTunes gives for it's $9.99(US) per full album download.
The path for me is simple. Get the single, get the leaked album in a month and then get the album 2-3 days after it's release.Then start collecting the promos and then get my concert tickets. I'm thinking France or maybe Germany because i can get in the front rows easily. In Greece there well be a total Hell so i will also go to a country that things are more melow. But right now i have an ear infection and i'm pretty mad cuz i cannot dive in the sea and i must stick my head out. Oh yes i'm on vacations but i come and go from Athens.So i thought drop in for a minute.
