Black Ice with DVD Edition
Some Japanese AC/DC news. In Japan, according to hmv.co.jp there will be two Japanese versions of Black Ice. One with an extra track, which is as yet undecided http://www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail/2780434 and another version with an extra track and an extra DVD, with as yet undecided content http://www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail/2780433 JB
Japan has always been a fractional market for AC/DC so I'm pretty sure the guys won't approve a speacial bonus track for the japanese market. Too many hype at the moment I guess.
Actually historically, Japan always gets the good shit. Especially when it comes to extras. For instance, AC/DC Live 2 disc Collector's Edition, came with a bonus track on the Japanese release; Hell Ain't A Bad Place to Be. I can't think of any more examples off-hand, but you get the idea. I wouldn't be surprised if they did indeed release an extra track or DVD in Japan. Besides...it's just more money spent by collectors importing it.
they have the full Hippodrome 77 show on official DVD. and awhile back they got new limited edition remasters of most albums.
Yeah it's not only japan. P.E. Australia has the Moneytalks single and the Ballbreak EP etc.
Not to prove a point but something is on it's way because Japanese Amazon report the same thing - that there is a Japanese version of Black Ice with a DVD: www.amazon.jp
I think as AC/DC fans, all of us who visit this site ought to do our duty and: 1. Buy at least one copy of Black Ice each for each of the different covers. 2. Pay the exta $5-$10 and buy at least one copy of the hardcover Black Ice CD 3. Go that extra mile and order and and all special Japanese, Australian or German editions, whether it’s a single CD which has a Bonus Track or a Special Deluxe Edition which comes with a 3 track DVD. On top of that, we should all be willing to buy the “new”, “comprehensive” DVD (two new bonus tracks!!!! Two!!!!) of “No Bull” to put on the shelf beside the one we bought sometime in the last 10 years. To top it all off, if you’re not regularly visiting the ACDC.com website and buying up t-shirts, baby clothes, vinyl wallets or anything else they have to offer, you really, truly are not demonstrating that you are willing to go the distance for AC/DC and your loyalty should be seriously called into question.
notangus whilst i do appreciate your sardonic wit, I personally feel that the AC/DC machine can and truly must do without my entire household income in this case, It pains me that I cannot sell my soul and that of my first born, in order to enjoy the pleasures to be had from my "officially" licensed laces, key chain, wallet, fridge magnet, bobbleheads, beanies, silk boxers etc. But alas I must (cue mournful violin solo) for the sake of my family, do as i always have, and stick with the album and a gig ticket, fuck it i think that the businessmen have created some kinda monster( cheers Metallica) and forgot its about music, rant over peace people and ill see ya at the gigs Dave
I think this calls for some re-education classes on your part, daclarob. Someone will be by your house shortly with a cardboard guitar, some rope, a chair and a bucket of water until you are prepared to denounce your denunciation of the AC/DC marketing machine.
Ok i don't wanna be the bad guy here but i think as a heavy AC/DC cd collector that runs for all the "goodies" i must tell you what i will buy. Except from the promos that are outside of the official ac/dc merchandise, i will buy the following: AC/DC deluxe edition album The singles Now that's a veeery huge list, right? AC/DC fans are not stupid, please don't make them look like that.
Also i don't understand why some people here are acting like that. You didn't want the new album to come out? Did not expect to see this multi marketing thing, especially from Sony? Come on! Will you not go to see them live if they do the usual stuff? AC/DC are finally making a comeback and you're acting like you did not want them to do that. Stop complaining it's pathetic.
If I can afford it, I will personally be buying: the deluxe the lp one each of the different colors any singles i can get my grubby hands on that's just how I am though. Every person has their own point of view and feelings/needs towards buying the album. Is it overkill to buy 5 different versions of the same album when you will probably be able to download it for free? Yep, sure is. But that's how it goes. I'll gladly shell out the money if it'll encourage the band to go on tour or put out another album before they call it quits.
