29th October 1979 Manchester Apollo
Yeh, let's have a bit of Bon for October. Something that many folks (including myself) won't have. This particular boot (soley because of it's unfamiliararity) will be a big hit with everyone. No one more so than liddle ol me :-)
A ton of people already have this bootleg including me so it is not a rarity. Still requesting a true rarity. November 13, 1988
actually Nate shared this one a couple years back, great gig though
What about the May 5, 1978 show? It would be cool to hear Bon sing Down Payment Blues. Don't know if it's a rarity though.
Sup3rdude, May 5, 1978 is also a very circulated show.
It seems to me that since there is so much less Bon material, that there arent that many shows that most people dont have. I prefer Brian stuff because there is so much more of it, and Its just preference. By the way, are the shirts being made? Im willing to pay.
acdc74, A ton of people already have this bootleg including me so it is not a rarity. Still requesting a true rarity. Well, I have the "Joe Louis Arena 86" gig and it ain't that rare. Nor is the 14th May 88, I have that, or the "Palace of Auburn Hills 3rd Aug 2000, I have that too. So, because I out bootleg you, I still request "Bon Scott" on the 29th October 1979 Manchester Apollo. Unless you wanna trade?? grahamlfarrell@hotmail.com
Grahamfarrell, I got your private message that said you already have oct. 29, 1979. I also got your message about wanting to trade. I do not understand your post because I never said the Detroit shows were rare. I have been providing weekly links to the winners. What do you mean you out bootleg me?
This site isn't just about sharing 'rare' bootlegs. Never has been, never will be. My goal has been to share what people are looking for, and if someone else already had it, I can't do much about it. One thing I've learned at my job is that you will never make 100% of your clients happy at the same time. With this site, I know I'll never make 100% of the members happy at the same time. That's just how it is, so I try to do my best. If I can throw out a less common show here & there, bonus. If I post a show that you already have, maybe take another listen and write your review; you never know what you'll hear the 2nd time around that you missed the first. God knows I've missed a lot on some of the shows I've had the longest. A lot of the less common shows are that way because they are incomplete or just don't sound as good. Are they still desirable? Hell yeah! Will everyone on this site want a crappy sounding show just because not everyone has it? Nope, not everyone. When choosing a show for the BOTM, I generally try to follow these guidelines in this order: - Post a show someone or many people requested - Post a show from the year/tour that someone requested - Post a good sounding show - Post a complete show - Post a rare show Just my point of view on the BOTM. Take it or leave it. As far as the t-shirts go, I have an initial design for a shirt done. Probably not quite what people will expect, but I think it'll go over pretty well as it will introduce yourself as a member of the site when people see it. I will be using a company that prints the shirts as they are ordered, mostly so I don't have to pay out a ton of money up front and then sit on 400 shirts that didn't sell. If these go over well & the process works out, I will probably keep going the same way with new designs and keep the older ones available. If it bombs, I'll reevaluate the situation and tackle it from another angle. I hope to have an announcement regarding the shirts this coming week. Keep an eye on the 'Hot Topics' section on the home page. I'll post it there first.
Nate, If that is the case, most people are requesting Nov. 13, 1988 under the October BOTM request post so since this is your first criteria, will this be in the running for the pick? Also, I will be getting a shirt. Hoping they can be done and delivered before I go to the Nov. 5th Detroit show. Thanks
At the end of the day, your the boss "Nate", what you say goes. End of chat. Oh, BTW. it was the Manchester Apollo 1978 show that I was after, not the 1979 one. My Bad.
Ill hopefully see you there acdc74, Im trying to go, even though its a school night for me. The Palace is a pain in the ass to get to, and to get out of. When you go to leave, there is one open exit, and 12,000 cars are trying to get out of. I went to a Pistons game there, and the game was over at 10, we got out, and waited in the car for 1 hour, before anything was moving. Id like it much more if it was at the JLA, but beggars cant be choosers with ACEC on tour again.
