Anyone get tix yet?
Just curious to see if anyone got tix to the shows that went on sale today. For those of us getting them tomorrow, feel free to post here too. Just wondering: - how the website process went - if you're a fan club member - if you're not - which show you're going to - most importantly, where are your seats I will be getting mine tomorrow morning. Good luck to everyone, i hope you all get great seats! (except in St Paul, I want the best ones)
I'm tempted to join the fan club, but so far it looks like a lot of cost without a hell of a lot of benefit. They say they will deliver a special gift right to your door, but for all I know, that will be a plastic keychain made for 5 cents of sweatshop labour in China by a 7 year old girl. The site is also cagey about setting aside good seats for members, so in the end, what are you paying for? At the moment, it's looking like an AC/DC Fan Tax, rather than a fan club. That being said, I will go about getting tickets whatever way seems best when the time comes and they visit my city.
hey well i live in st. louis and was going to get tix for the columbus show they were sold out in like 15 min u kind of hav to join the fan club for good seats
I just visited Philips Arena's website (the place that replaced the Omni here in Georgia), and saw a little banner for the Dec 16th show. This is part of what pops up when you click it: AC/DC Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 8:00 PM Tickets on sale September 20 • 10:00 AM Ticket Prices: $93.50 $93.50? Is that what's considered a good deal? I'm not really interested in paying that much for my first real concert (I'm only 19 here, give me a break) even if it is AC/DC. If there are still tickets available when it gets closer to the show, I might change my mind...but right now...probably not.
I joined the fanclub, you can get a refund for your $40 membership if you don't buy tickets. Pepsi Center in Denver, hoping for tix on the floor!! We'll find out in the AM if I can get them. US $89.50 here, but who knows how much the fanclub tix will cost. They'll probably rape me for some more money.
I was awake and ready to go to get tickets for the Toronto show here....10 AM hit...and I was stopped in my tracks by the 4 ticket limit per household. I needed 6. Decided to take what I could get and figure it out later. Those few seconds sure did cost me, because by the time I was front of the queue, it seemed there was no tickets left. I tried and tried again for over an hour, but to no avail. Then I figured, "ok, I signed up for the fanclub, I'll just get two, and my friends can fight over who goes"....yeah, nothing left there either. I'm super pissed and depressed now, because the only way I can even get tickets now is to buy from a resale site, which for even the cheap seats it's upwards of 300 CAD+ PER TICKET. I just hate when people fucking do that; buy tickets just to rip legitamate fans off. I don't got 300 for a ticket, nor do my friends. Here's hoping they do another go around during the tour, cause this first attempt bummed me out.
Dude, that sucks... I've heard of everything when it comes to people buying up tickets...including people making fake tickets. When the (I can't believe I'm mentioning her name) Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus tour came through, the local news reports were warning of "counterfeit tickets". The ticket sites themselves warn of scalping, and it's technically illegal to do it out in front of the event itself.
Oh, the resale site...owned by Ticketmaster. TicketsNow or something like that. Yeah...it's illegal to sell tickets here in Ontario for more than the face value plus service charges...except if you do it on the website owned by Ticketmaster. Yeah, not highway robbery at all.
Hi guys. Exactly how many seat are on these venues? 3000?5000? And i'm wary that if the first Europe leg goes to closed places then i will not get any tickets at all. Does anyone know if ticketmaster (tickerippster) will sell the European ticks? I see that half of the US members here did not got any ticks and i'm worried. Also what is this fuc%ing faceless tickets. I hope we don't get to have this bull$it in europe leg.
GOT EM! the websiite process sucked just saying but im going to the wilkes berre shows, my ticket is section 108, row L, seat 6, but whats the deal with printing these? dont they send them to you?
Riff Raff, If you want sweet seats, JOIN THE AC/DC FAN CLUB!!!!! It was totally worth it. Going to the Auburn Hills, MI November 5, 2008 show at The Palace of Auburn Hills. I was on Ticketmaster on 2 computers at my house. One computer I was logged on at 10 am. and 1 second going the fan club route with the link from ACDC.com and the other computer I was also on at 10 a.m. and 1 second by simply being on the normal Ticketmaster website. Fan club route>>I can't fucking believe it>>>I got Section C, main floor, Row 10 seats 7 and 8. Sections A and C are right in front of the stage. There is not going to be a section B because there is a long stage coming out right down the middle of the arena like they did on the SUL tour. Regular Ticketmaster route>>>The best tickets I could have gotten were upper bowl, section 214, row 16, seats 19 and 20. This upper bowl section 214 would be the first section next to the stage. As you can see, it was totally worth it to spend the $40!!!!!!!!! I hope this post helps the TRUE FANS!!!!!!
Congrats to those who got the precious tickets. acdc74, Did they apply the $40 to your total bill (I mean they deduct the amount from your bill)? If such is the case, I may subscribe as soon they announce the dates for the European tour. Sapator, To my knowledge, Ticketmaster does not operate in Europe. Each country has its selling operator and in general, they are not net-based.
Got 3 tix for chicago section 202... Well looks like I should have gone the fan club route. But then I couldnt have gotten 3
Mammoth, The $40 fanclub charge is a separate charge to my credit card. When I bought my tickets a little over an hour ago, the $40 is NOT credited. Here were the total charges. 1. $40 to join the fanclub. Separate charge. 2. Tickets = $92.50 per ticket x 2 Ticketmaster Convenience Charge $12.35 x 2 Delivery (Paperless Ticket) = No Charge Order Processing Fee = $4.35 Total for tickets = $214.05 for two tickets So, it really is going to cost me $254.05 in U.S. Dollars for 2 tickets. I was willing to spend $350 to $400 for 1 ticket from a scalper if I could get real close so 10th row for $130 makes this obsessed fan VERY HAPPY!!! Good luck on your ticket purchase.
Haven't bought tickets for a concert in years. But an old trick worked. Called Ticketmaster in Milwaukee for Chicago tickets. Got through right away. Phone is 414-276-4545. The bad news section 215 upper deck in the back. At least they're in the center. The George Steinbrenner solution remains an option. Ticket brokers want about 300 apiece.
- how the website process went Kept refreshing from 9:55 until it came up then quickly went through everything. The site was very fast virtually no wait. - if you're not I'm not a member. - which show you're going to Chicago Allstate Arena - most importantly, where are your seats Section 202 Row B Seats 3-5 YES!!!
Ok I see. You get a refund of the $40 fee only if you do not order tickets...
Mammoth, That is correct. If you do NOT purchase tickets through the acdc.com fanclub link to Ticketmaster, you can get your $40 back but only within the first 90 days of fanclub membership. Sometime between 30 and 90 days, your credit card would get the $40 credit back if you cancel. You would have to wait at least 30 days in order to make sure that you really didn't purchase any fanclub tickets.
row 10 on the floor in in minneapolis, i can't complain.
You got the same as me Nate, congrats. Row 10 in Detroit. I went on Stubhub yesterday and there was someone selling row 10 for Detroit for almost $2,000 per ticket. Someone else had Row 13 and that ticket was $800 apiece. Ridiculous.
Breaking news Apparently the Chicago October 30 show is sold out. I just bought tickets for the second show at the Allstate Arena Saturday November 1.
How fast they're selling? I don't know but I got seats near where yours are for Oct. 30.
On how fast it sold out dailydose. I believe Detroit is sold out also because it cannot search for tickets anymore on ticketmaster. I believe Detroit took about an hour or a little bit more to sell out I think.
After buying tickets for Oct. 30 on the phone I went to the Ticketmaster website to see what seats were available. One click later it automatically sent me to Nov. 1. Look to see if a second show went up in your city.
$93.50? Thats £52.25 in the UK!!!!! Never mind the people that are ripping you off on the other ticket sites, the main sites like Tickmaster( I know they've had a bad rap in the past), are taking the piss. Tell me honestly, how many people here can afford this knid of price for a ticket?. The last time they played, i think the ticket was under £20 ($35), and even then there was complaints. My kids want to go to the show in Glasgow,if there is one that is,but if the tickets are the same price as the US, I've had it!! Any kind donations are gratefully recieved!!
acdc74, Ill see you there, I got mine this morning. There upper bowl, but directly facing the stage. 1st row, section 220. This means I have a ledge in front of me, and I could film if I wanted to.
Danger, Sounds good. That would be sweet if you could film it especially since no one is in front of you. We'll have to meet up at the concert since we have rapped many times. Section 220 is right at the corner on the one side I see. Right side if you are facing the stage. Section 223 is a direct straight line to the stage.
Scotty, are you still coming to St Paul? If so, drop me a PM so we can meet up.
For the fan club members who got good seats: I am going to see them in Oakland, which is the one random show that goes on sale tomorrow. How early did you get your code for the tickets, and do you have any tips on how to get good seats? As a side note, $90 does not seem like too much to me. Consider how fast these shows are selling out, and then think about what they could have charged!
Don't get me wrong, i will take my kids to see them as this will probably be the last we see of them, but in all fairness to the the band, i don't think its the them that will be pricing the gigs. Its always the fact that it will be the leeches that ride the coat tails of bands that make the money. Maybe more bands should take Pearl Jam's idea and sell the tickets on their own website and cut out the "leeches", like Ticketmaster and the like.
The codes seemed to come available approx 30 minutes before the tix themselves go on sale. The link on tickets.acdc.com changes from the date to Get Tickets or something like that. Assuming you're signed in, click there and it should take you directly to another page with your code & a link to where the tix are on sale for that venue (ticketmaster for me).then you wait until they go on sale, hit the ticketmaster page and enter your info. I signed up/signed into ticketmaster before hand just in case.
Nate, I am not going to be able to make it to the Minneapolis show afterall. Unless something changes, I'll let you know. My wife's sister-in-law will be at the show though and she is in the 13th row so you will be close to her and her friends. Riff Raff, Nate's directions are exactly correct. Make sure you are signed in on the fan club, make sure you know your ticketmaster sign in and password as well. Be signed on ahead of time in both cases just like Nate said.
I just read the story about the Vancouver show...how is it possible that with a four ticket limit that the show sell out in less than a minute? You know how, professional scalpers. They just sit up and wait for the tickets to go on sale, and then they have their room of 100 "friends" buy four tickets each. Multiply that by 10 rooms and you have 4,000 tickets sold then. You also have to account for the fact that those numbers are grossly underrated and that the fan club has a certain number of tickets set aside.
I ordered tix for the 1st Chicago appearance of the tour which sold out in just a matter of mins. also! Also have tix for Wilkes Barre and Philly, thanks to nightprowler for ordering them! Let's have an awesome time!
I am First Level 5th row in Boston, and 19th Row Floor in San Antonio. I have an extra pair of tix for Boston in Loge 2, row 15. Looking for a extra ticket for one of the New York MSG shows or Wilkes-Barre
We just got St. Paul tickets, and they are no where close to the floor. We are still working on Chicago; however, it will cost a lot.
we got tickets for charlotte nc whicj is 1 and a half hour away from us..other than having to wait a while on the phone to speak with someoine we had no problems getting 3 tickets on lower level secton for me ,my wife and our 4 year old son. our ticket are paperless, we just show cc and id at the gate with an order number.
Just a note for ticket prices. 93$ is 64 Euros. The Iron Maiden gig (i think it's the 9th or 10th time they come in Greece, Bah) was 60 Euros (didn't went of course) and Metallica$h and other bands cost around 50-60-70 Euros. Rockwave festival was 60Euros. So a 65euros ticket for a band that never came to Greece again is very nice.As long as they don't push it to 100Euros but then again we will probably have a riot :P
Heya M8s - need some help from you guys. I was just looking n Ticketmaster for the Oakland Show. I can only find one price which is given with 90,- $. Well on toponlineticket there are so many different price ranges. For example Row 1 Section 107 - 311,- $. Is that a good seat or seomething far away from the middle. Row 2 Section 216 - 426,- $. This appears to be better but I have no conclusion and can ot fidn any plan of the hall. It seems to me that Row 1 does not mean 1st row. Because there is a Row A5 Section 10 fro 599,- and Row 2 FLRA for 1124,- $. Sorry but I'm really not used to these kind of seating. Thanks to explain to me. CYA
I got two tickets for each of the Madison Square Garden show, as well as two tickets for the East Rutherford, NJ show. Didn't sign up for the fan club so I didn't get floor seats. I'm not going to complain, however, as they are pretty good lower level seats and will do me just fine. I belive my total cost was in the $600 dollar range for 6 tickets, which is friggin rape, if you want my honest opinion. Whatever! Anyway, my tickets for the East Rutherford show are the paperless tickets, where I have to show my cc and id. I never had that before so I'm curious as to how I'll be seated without actual tickets. I'm going to one show with my 10 yr old son so he can experience the band, as this is probably their last tour.
Good for you mate but I am positive this won't be their last. ;-)
I got tickets for the Toronto show, originally I wanted to go to the Minnieapolis show, because it is a little bit closer to T Bay, I'm not on the floor in Toronto, but I'm not complaining, I at least got tickets..
Long time no see! Hello to everyone again. Nice to see AC/DC in the swing of things again, but of course, it seems the record company is capitalizing on them quite heavily. Wal-Mart exclusive? Tickets almost $100 a piece? Anyway, is there anyone planning on going to the St. Louis, Indianapolis, or Nashville shows? With any luck, I'll be filming (just need the CASH!) Also, word to the wise that want to risk it, sometimes Ticketmaster will release extremely good tickets (1st 5-10 rows) just a couple of days before the concert. They'll also cut the price if they aren't sold out, all that stuff. This happened a couple of years ago with Guns N' Roses and the Black Crowes. Just saying.. they've been known to do it. I don't understand why this isn't just general admission on the floor like nearly every other concert in America... odd....
Fuck, am I the only one who's ready to burn down TicketMaster's headquarters??!! If they own TicketsNow, then that means they basically sent out robots to buy up their own tickets, and resell them under the TicketsNow moniker for astronomical prices! Well Fuck you Ticketmaster! I was all ready to buy tickets the second they went on sale, and I overslept by an hour! Imagine how I felt when I learned they sold out in minutes! And now, I can't afford tickets for the prices they're asking. Anything even relatively decent costs at least $300. And what's the point of being in the nosebleeds, especially when you paid $100+ per ticket. AC/DC, I'm disappointed that you didn't but in and tell TicketMaster to fuck off. I'm 15 and I have never seen AC/DC before, and I'm afraid I won't ever get to if the rumours of a farewell tour are true. I know it's hard, but listen, if you want to attract newer generations, you have to fight to keep tickets reasonable. I'm done.
