Anyone know if there will be any opening bands and who here would think it would be awesome if the first song AC/DC played in Wilkes Barre ended up being "Back in Business"?

I doubt it, but that would be awesome. That's the first song I heard on the first AC/DC tape I owned. I guess you could say it's the song that started my obsession with them! I traded a Dwight Gooden rookie card for the cassette tapes of Fly and BIB. Again, it would be awesome and very fitting but I doubt it. (I hope they prove me wrong!) I'd settle for Thunderstruck or Who Made Who, or maybe Brian will finally take another crack at Live Wire (haha). I'll just be happy if they bring back Who Made Who to the setlist.

Oh, and I doubt anyone will open, and if they do, it had better be someone DAMN good for making us wait to see AC/DC!

It'd be cool to hear them do Live Wire again...and I think Brian could do really good at it. It a related matter: there's a (not-so-)secret rehearsal gig that's gonna be held in New York that many radio stations here in the US are holding contests to win a trip to see it.

I think Airbourne as openers would be good to induce suicide in the audience, if that's what AC/DC are looking for. Live Wire and/or Riff Raff would be awesome openers. It's always puzzled me why AC/DC only played Riff Raff as the opener for a few shows in 1978 (obviously the ones they were recording), the audience went absolutely nuts for it (at least if the first 30 second build up of the cassette version of IYWB is to be believed) and then promptly dropped it again until that brief (non audience) opener of 1996's VH1 show. On the other hand, I understand Live Wire as an opener - it's one of their best with really awesome dynamics. Brian's really opened up creatively in the last 10 years - I bet he has the 'tude and the confidence (that which was holding him back in the 1982 show) now to take it over the edge. That is, if he brings the attitude and the humour he brought to his Totally Baked songs.

I very much doubt that, given Metallica's stance, they would be an opening act. With a new album just out (a damn good one, too) they will be busy headlining their own tour, and as the only time our boys and Metallica were on the same bill was at the Monsters of Rock festivals, i think they would probably rather eat their own shit that be an opening act for any band. As for Airbourne, i think it would be good to have them as an opening act, mainly because it would warm the crowd up, because everyone could play their new favorite game - "Who can slice Joel O'Keefe's nadgers in half with a broken beer can.." Yay!

The new Metallica is shite. It's just less shite than what they've put out before and compared to the sewage they were drowning in with St. Anger, it looks like they've got an arm and a couple of eyeballs out of the sewer thanks to Rick Rubin. It's still shite though. Here's hoping Rick Rubin can have them breathing fresh air again sometime within the next 5-6 albums.
