I have an old Creative zen Neeon MP3 player that I am planning to record the Detroit show with. The Microphone itself is not that bad for quality, and the player itself is very small. Unfortunately, it only recors in 128kpbs MP3. The player has a line in function on the top. Could I buy a microphone to plug into the line in slot? I saw some on that Beastie Boys link a while back; Core Sounds and Sonic Studios. Are these any good, or are there less expensive options. acdc74, when you went in 2000 to the palace, was there much security? Did you record? This will be my first concert, and Im planning to record, so I have alot of questions. I have noticed on my ticket that it says no recording, but I dont care. PM me. Finally, has the band ever said anything about open recording during there concerts?

Danger, I have never recorded a concert before. I certainly am not going to risk it this time either since I got 10th row tickets. Yes, there was a lot of security. The security thing isn't the bitch, the bitch is the metal detectors. I am still trying to figure out how people get video cameras and recording devices in. I don't think AC/DC is down with bootlegging but I have not ever heard them really speak about it per se.

Just get a Sony MD Recorder/Player. They do pretty good from what I hear, and they have attachments for a microphone...now to get the mic in, shoe it. To get the MD in, carry it like a normal mp3 player. To get the blanks in...crotch 'em.

I think its random scanning. I just remembered that my parents took us to Trans siberian Orchestra. (yes I Know, very crappy) I think the Palace scanned people with bags carry-ons.

I could have brought just about anything into both shows I went to on the Stiff Upper Lip tour. I played against the ticket taker's brother in Vegas and was well known in Salt Lake City, so I probably could have taken just about any rig you could think of in with me. Unfortunately at that time, bootlegs were the farthest thing from my mind. A lot has changed since that tour (most notably September 11th), so I'm sure security will be tighter. Just how tight is the question.
