Does anybody out there know of a video converter that will convert to an itouch format (mpeg-4 I believe). I recently received on as a gift, and I am trying to figure out the whole itunes garbage. Thanks

There's this piece of software from the days of the first video iPod called "Jodix Free iPod Video Converter". It takes a little getting used to, but it works with most of the files I throw at it...and it still does great video for my 3rd Gen Nano. The settings you should use are as follows: video bitrate: 900 kbps - 1500 kbps audio bitrate: 160 kbps (I'd prefer higher, but the software can't do it) Of course you could use Total Video Converter, but it's not really free, and it's a bit more complex.
