AC/DC Announce UK Dates!
AC/DC have confirmed what appear to be the first batch of UK & Irish dates on their forthcoming Black Ice World Tour The band will play dates at the O2 Arena, Manchester Evening News Arena and Birmingham’s LG Arena in April, plus a date at the O2 Arena in Dublin on 18 April. Tickets go on sale on Friday at 10am from the link below. Here are the dates: London 02 Arena - April 14 Dublin, The O2 - April 18 Manchester MEN Arena – April 21 Birmingham LG Arena – April 23 Tickets are thought to cost £40 each (£45 for London) and they will apparently be limited to two per person. Fans will be no doubt disappointed that there aren’t more dates. The three UK venues have a combined capacity of around 40,000 while demand will surely be in the millions. Fingers crossed for strongly rumoured additional dates that will plug those gaps between London and Manchester... -Cyph (originaly from planetrock - http://www.planetrock.co.uk/article.asp?id=933703)
Excuse my French here, but.... Fingers crossed fuck all!! 8 soddin years for some new music, 5 soddin years since ANY live shows, a monumental donkey n carrot act with the new cd, and yet again the Scots get humped!! Sorry to sound off here people, and I apologise to my US cousins in advance, 1978 Glasgow/Scotland was good enough for rthe bulk of the live LP, 30 years on we might, just might get tacked onto the back as an after thought, cheers AC/DC MNGT. how to alienate a nation in one fell swoop!! middle of a worldwide credit crisis, and were expected to shell out nearly £50 then add another £50 -£100+ travel to see em, whats up guys? not enough interest on your millions? 4 rumoured shows for a UK tour, thats a fuckin joke, i may be an old fart but I remember when a UK tour lasted nigh on a month and covered THE WHOLE country, not just the biggest ££££ return venues, changed days eh? just outta curiosity, have the band all got their Green Cards yet,I know the US is a huge market, just seems they seem to spend more time over the pond than anywhere else these days!! oh yeah, stupid me, the management are NY based,(US residents, please see my comment above, Im glad your seeing em,i hope you enjoy the gig, but please appreciate my frustration) years of listening to the band giving it"our fans are the best...." , yeah right, the most fuckin patient thats for sure! yeah, the diehards will travel south(again!) but it is getting a bit tiresome guys, or gimme a guess, for appeasment, heres another Donington to keep ye all quiet! HERES A FUCKIN THOUGHT FOR YA! EDINBURGH MURRAYFIELD< capacity 70.000 2 nights @ £40 a ticket = £5,600000 GLASGOW HAMPDEN capacity 70000 2 nights @ £40 a ticket = £5,600000 4 NIGHTS WORK, 8 HRS ON STAGE, £11,200000 NOT INCLUDING MERCH, THAT ENOUGH CASH FOR YA? AND THERE AINT A FUCKER ALIVE THAT CAN CONVINCE ME YOU WOULDNT SELL THOSE 4 NIGHTS OUT, AND VOILA, YOUVE SATISFIED THE WHOLE OF SCOTLAND AN POSS THE NE. WHERES THE PROBLEM? "KICKED IN THE TEETH .....AGAIN!" i was excited about seeing my "heroes" again but looks like i got more chance of a lotto win, and im stuck with the feeling that someone within AC/DC Inc. is a money grabbing bastard, I hope it aint the band. And as a closer, to save the criticisms, I SERIOUSLY HOPE I AM WRONG ONE THING FOR CERTAIN THO', AFTER ALL THE HOOPS WE THE FANS HAVE HAD TO JUMP THRU' FOR TICKETS,THE PATIENCE WEVE HAD TO SHOW FOR YEARS OF SILENCE........ THE BAND BETTER BE FUCKIN GOOD WHEN THEY DO START TOURING
I'm assuming they'll be in Europe all summer, so there is still plenty of time for them to get around. I'm just praying they'll come back to Fargo since I'm missing them in January.
i appreciate what yor sayin Nate, and I apologise for sounding off like that, but it justy seems that the UK north of Manchester is getting shortchanged progressively more and more, as I said no-one will tell me that if Bryan Adams/U2 or Robbie Williams can sell out large stadia in Edinburgh or Glasgow,AC/DC couldnt. Look at the demand in the US and Europe for tickets just now, they've generated such a buzz that they could play 4 nights in every venue and still make a profit, but as for playing Scotland,Ill bet you a $ that its the "shed" in Glasgow(again)
Dave im just not accepting that they wont play scotland, im still hoping they will play. as for hampden and murrayfield 4 nights? you must be on something mate! i think theyd struggle to sell out one show at them stadiums. other than the "shed" where else in scotland holds 10,000? not sure about ingleston is that not about 8,000. i ll be pissed too if they dont play glasgow but it wont be the first time 82-91 were bare for glasgow and i had to take them in at donington 84 edinburgh 86 birmingham and london 88. they have no excuses about secc being full in april because its far from it. im still pretty sure they play it :) hail hail.............davidceltic
@dave well...... good call mate.. if it helps ya out, i am planing to travel up to manchester. depends on my big boss... hehe might be feelin better if u drink a beer with a german dude and we both are in "enemy country"...... joking rudy
I believe they will bea dding concert cities as we move forward. Many "traditional" concert cities have not been announced yet, including Switzerland. It will come but of course, if you've got money to afford, get tix for other concerts. I got a pair for Paris but I'll also try to get others for any Swissy show. If you still can't make it, you'll certainly get your wish in the summer lef in the big open air venues.
I believe I read that this is an 18 moth tour. I'm certain that there will be several stadium dates in Europe this summer. I cannot believe that the brothers Young would deny the country of their birth a show or two.
Well they missed Scotland out on the BUYV tour. London and Birmingham were the lucky ones then. I think they will announce 1 date, most likely "The Shed". I also think they will play Download festival too. That will be it probably! Hampden or Murrayfield would be great though. Wishful thinking on my part here!!!
well i aint gonna start an east/west feud amongst the Scots in the house, but they seem to have forgotten that Edinburgh is the capital, and I stand by what I said, if half the shite going nowadays can do Hampden n Murrayfield, REM,U2,Celine Dion etc, you cant tell me that the masses who flock south to Donington wouldnt attend, fuck me,were an hour or two away from the northern European an Scandanavian brethren, and WHERE would ya rather party? London, where you need a bankloan for a pint, or Scotland where the partys ongoin? given the cannons of FTATR, what bout Stirling CAstle N Edinburgh Castle Esplanade? NOW THERES A FUCKIN GIG!!!
dave is edinburgh capital? ;) lol glasgow vrs edinburgh? theres only going to be one winner mate :) dont worry dave i ll see you in glasgow afterall its only 45 miles away. where in edinburgh could dc actually play? is ingleston still open for buisness? maybe it about time our capital got a half decent venue of upto 20,000 indoors and we could all travel thru to edinburgh. wouldnt be a problem for me :)
Edinburgh Castle would be the best gig ever. If Bon Fuckin Jovi can sell out Hampden, AC/DC could do the same 10 times over!!! If they played anywhere in Scotland, i think everyone would be happy. Bannockburn!!! NOW THERES A FUCKIN GIG!!!!!
