MSG's policy on camreas?
Anyone know MSG's policy on cameras? Also, anyone know how well either of these would record the show: (I've recorded my dad playing guitar on the MP3 player, and it came out very well.)
My guitar teacher was a assistant to Joe Walsh of the Eagles an toured around the world with him. He said that cameras may be a problem but mp3 players shouldn't be. I don't know the rules for individual arenas. That doesnt mean you couldnt sneak it it...
Well, my camera is a point-and-shoot... that also does video. I wonder what MSG's policy will be. I'll go look for website and see if it says anything.
OK here is one from yahoo answers and it looks like your out of luck http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070918180415AAftG6v But for those of us who are going to the Allstate Arena Tomorrow or Satuday... http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=413909
the sansa is not the way to go. i use it to record stuff and its horrible. if you can find another mp3, do it
I went to see WWE Wrestling at MSG a couple of months ago and it seemed like every other person had a camera and was recording video on it. I did it myself. I held the camera in my hand during the obligatory pat down going in and no one said anything. My camera is small, however. I don't know if you will have trouble with the one pictured above. I'll be at both MSG shows, btw. Oh, and here's some video I took at the Izod Arena in East Rutherford, NJ from this past April's WWE Raw show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeWEFGSe3Os Just to give you an idea of what to expect as far a quality from the 3 AC/DC shows that I will attend next month. Ha, ha!
ruddisgod: I already have the Sansa, so I'm not gonna buy another MP3 player just for this show. viper: Well do you think it would be different for a concert? Hey, since I'm going Thursday, why don't you just post Wednesday after the show what the policy was?
I went to the MSG show yesterday and recorde the entire thing with my camera. I just held it in my hand and went right in. I didn't even get searched (or Tossed, as my cop friend that I went with would say). I did see people to the left and to the right of me getting checked with metal detectors, but I went right in. I could have had an actual minicam to make a better recording and it would have been no problem.
Scotty, Here's a couple that I've put up on youtube: Rock N Roll Train: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm2QjmCdqYo Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jsjEsx4JOE I'll put up the whole show by tomorrow. I'll record the today's show also. I just saw one that a guy is selling on youtube that is multicam, with very good video and sound: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PIu-W8usKs
hey viper, hope you enjoyed the show. Thanks for the videos but any chance to get the full audio set? Enjoy the 2nd night as well. Wish they'll play a different set.
Well, if it happens that no proper audio bootlegs pop up from either MSG show (which is highly unlikely), I will come up with rips from the video. I'll put up more on youtube today. I had much better seats yesterday so I got better video (once again, I got the whole show). I'm so friggin sore this morning! Two days of AC/DC! Can't wait for the East Rutherfors show next week! Ha, ha!
Yeah, I ended up bringing neither because I was afraid they'd take them or something. But as you said, they didn't even pat me down, so now I regret not bringing my camera. They didn't even check the bag I was carrying!
Nice work Viper! I know there are at least 1 lossless source for each of the MSG shows, as well as the Phili & DC shows. It'll just take time for them to surface, either shared or in other formats.
I've been trying to compile all the MSG videos from the 13th, but people don't wanna let go of them. Anyone wanna help me out?
