concert tickets
Dear Angus, brian, malcolm, cliff and phil Have been to see you every time you have toured in the uk, and been blown away of course, now my daughter is 11 i wanted to take her to an ACDC concert , problem is the tickets have a face value of around 40 pounds sterling, which i guess you set and is very reasonable, but every where you go , every venue, e-bay, ticket master etc, the tickets have been racked up to nearly 4 times face value, and i simply cant afford that, would you guys consider not playing / boycotting these venues that are ripping your genuine long time fans off big time, until they bring the prices down. Double is fair enough to have to pay but not 4 x and even as high as 5 x in some places. Thanks guys for reading this , hope you act on it, and if we cant afford to get to see you next year have a brilliant tour youve been sorely missed for 8 yrs, Album is the dogs b******s. Wh....Huh? Please tell me you don't actually expect a response from AC/DC....
AC/DC doesnt set ticket prices. Im pretty sure about that. Its the concert venues. In the states its over $90, which is alot, but it varies.
Which means that this letter should be directed at the SECC or wherever you would go in the UK
Hi guys thanks for your replies, would be nice to see if the band actually do read this this site and reply, they have my e-mail address so lets wait and see.if not then nothing lost. I dont know who sets the prices in the uk , i am sure the band must have some input, and wouldnt want to be playing to half empty stadiums just because some greedy ***** racked up the price of tickets without them knowing. cheers guys anymore info would help and you comments are gratefully received. mark and annabelle taylor
I don't think you understand. This site is in no way affiliated with the band or Sony BMG. The band members probably don't know this site exists.
I very much doubt the band knows this site exists but the original poster has a point, albeit not one that can be resolved here. I'm from the UK. AC/DC have, so far, only announced 3 venues they'll be performing. Tickets understandably sold out within hours but unfortunately a large number have fallen into the hands of ticket touts (i.e. not AC/DC fans) who are selling them on for 5x their face value, that's equivalent to 500 USD. Genuine fans are getting ripped off and with them the band. I think this stream shows how popular the band are in the UK and how desperate people are to get tickets but at the price set by the band's agent, not some gangster ticket 'handler'. Like the original poster I'm lucky having seen the band several times in the 80s & 90s. I guess our only hope is to wait and see if AC/DC put on extra UK dates later on in the tour? BTW Great site, thanks.
Dont bet on the band(or at least their lawyers) not knowing about this site) you would be suprised just how much these people do know, think about it logically, AC/DC is an asset worth millions to the band and the record company, makes sense therefore that they would do anything in their power to protect their asset, especially at present what with it having such a high profile and commercial value. Trust me on this one, there are people watching what were upto, very probably not bothering the "artistes" but watching none the less. As for Mark and Annabelle Taylors original post, I think people, you may have misinterpreted its meaning, I agree with every word written but I dont for a second think it was written for the attention of Mssrs Young,Young& Johnson et al, I feel it was written as a statement of the sad situation we(the millions of unlucky ticketless fans) now find ourselves in, what with a grossly under catered for UK tour coupled with over inflated ticket prices and unscrupulous ticket scalpers. Personally speaking, { can only reiterate what I stated previously, AC/DC(the organisation, not the band) knew fine well what the demand was going to be like for tour tickets after an absence of 5 years, the publicity machine made sure the world was fanned into a frenzy and guaranteed that demand would far outstrip supply, full marks to them for it I say, those guys earned their money. However its a basic rule of business, make sure supply is less than demand and keep em wanting more, guarantees PROFIT and success, AC/DC might be a band of 5 guys, but its also a multi million £/$ making industry and unfortunately, IT is the suits that set the rules by which we all play,You, me,him,her,AC/DC, us all. Sadly the days of sweaty little concert halls and reasonable ticket prices are long in the past, you want proof? look at Hammersmith in 2003, what was once a normal occurence was treated as a HAPPENING! End of the day,it was still only a rock band playing a venue. I hope their are more gigs announced in the UK, selfishly I want Scotland on the itinary, cos I,like loads of you, have a family, mortgage commitments etc. and the £ spent on travel could be better spent on those, hell Id be gutted if I miss them but priorities are priorities. As for all you lucky buggers who are seeing them in the US and Europe, ENJOY, from what ive heard so far, it does sound like the band are on fire and I do envy you! Jings, crivvens, help ma boab! I knew that University education would pay off sooner or later! LOL BE WELL PEOPLE AND BE GOOD TO EACH OTHER yer big pal DAVE
I'm shocked... does this mean Malcolm & Angus don't read every last one of these posts? .. next you'll be telling me they don't even care who buys the tickets or for how much. balls its a sad cruel world
well some of the brethren are,how shall I put it politely?, not as cynical as others........
