I think it's the first no1 ever. I don't think even SUL was no1. The thing is that i hear them on the radio and i see commercials on TV and stuff and instead of being happy, well, i get angry. Shite i'm thinking some stuff that notangus said and others that daclarob said. WTF?AC/DC were never commercial in Greece and now they try to push them?I suppose i will see Pet shop boys fans in the AC/DC gig as well. I don't know, i really would prefer less fuss that this thing. Of course i would still like to see the commercial songs ;) Plus 2-3 rare.Fuckin SONY. Yes, i would prefer 5 guys on the stage with no pyros and screens as daclarob said but i won't mind for the megashow either. The thing i'm getting pissed of is that they try to make them a fashion band.Every little asshole i know will be on the gig but 2 years ago they didn't even know a song either than thunderstruck.AND IT'S PISSING ME OFF!

Greece, one among only 4 countries where Black Ice has held onto the #1 spot in the charts for the first 3 weeks. The 3 other countries are Germany, Denmark and Belgium (Flanders).

Dude, calm down... AC/DC stopped being an indie hipster band sometime around the time they recovered from the death of Bon Scott and figured out they could shape the new singer to do whatever they wanted him to do... There will be no more or no less people at the shows than there were 8 years ago. They've always filled arenas and nothing is going to stop them at doing that. Not only that, but your rant is sort of misguided. Average people know more than "Thunderstruck" - they also know "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Dirty Deeds" and sometimes even "Big Balls" (because it's so damn funny). As for setlist, here's some songs they should be adding to the setlist, especially if it's going to be their last tour: Riff Raff It's A Long Way to the Top High Voltage Big Balls She's Got Balls RnR Damnation If You Want Blood Who Made Who Heatseeker Sink the Pink Shake Your Foundations Guns for Hire Nervous Shakedown Put the Finger on You The Razor's Edge Mistress for Christmas These are "essential" songs which should be in steady rotation, let along getting to the "obscure" songs...

sorry metlac but I was referring just to countries participating in -country-charts.com. Sure they might be others outside it.

I, for one, am thrilled about the all out assault of radio and TV ads and overall promotion of Black Ice. The more I listen to this album, the more impressed I am with it. It is about time that the execs promoted an album instead of letting it be released in relative obscurity like the last two. I can see where you are coming from, sap. I can remember when Metallica got on MTV when I was in high school, and then 14 year old girls (fans of Paula Abdul, Madonna, etc.) were saying "Oh, I love Metallica!!" I felt like my appreciation for Metallica was cheapened because they were no longer perceived as edgy or tough (in the end, Metallica turned on all their longtime fans and started making crappy albums, but that's a story for another day). I guess I feel differently about AC/DC. I can't think of any good reason not to promote the hell out of this great album and get as many new fans as possible. And when I look around at the vast array of AC/DC fans nowadays, the only thing that I want to say is, "FINALLY people are getting it." I'm okay with the fact that a bunch of those folks may be a by-product of Sony trying to maximize profits because I am happy with the end result.

Erudite's point on the girls stuff. Notang AC/DC were NOT popular in Greece. People ONLY know Thunderstruck and that's it. Big balls??! No way. Thunderstruck is the one and only song being played on non Rock clubs and even if they play it i can see only 1-2 people out of a 100 that recognize it. Anyway the point is that AC/DC are growing opposite. Worse album better sales. Imagine Razor's edge being out now!!! And the other thing i must stress out is that i don't have anything with AC/DC themselves and notangus but my problem is with Sony. You show the boxset of black ice? Will i get it? No way!! I prefer my cd,dvd multi promotional japanize promo set that i posses ;) (Thankfully on the promo side SONY did not release cd singles and so i have few items to collect. So i wont spend a fortune :) )
