AC/DC blamed for financial crisis
Funny read I got in my e-mail today. As the global financial crisis continues to make headlines around the world, talk is inevitably turning to who is to blame. The usual suspects have been wheeled out — greedy investment bankers, greedy investors, greedy politicians and so on — but it seems a group of Aussie legends could be inadvertantly to blame. According the UK Guardian's music critic, Alexis Petridis, Aussie rockers AC/DC's ascension to the top of the UK charts amid the current crisis may be no coincidence. Every time the iconic rockers have topped the charts, financial catastrophe has shortly followed, particularly in the UK. Read the full story here: AC/DC blamed for financial crisis
Hi All my wife isn't happy because i was working when AC/DC tickets went on sale got home from work and all the tickets had sold out, so i have just had to buy two tickets off ebay for 260 pounds for the opening night in the UK. Can't wait, the first time i saw them was 1979 and i've seen them every tour since and every Monsters of Rock 1981, 1984 and 1991 but this will be the first time i will see them with my son with me who is 20 now and we are both looking forward to it.
Come on... Are they serious...people are just looking for someone to blame now. I think the guys who are to blame are the ones blaming AC/DC.
Well leave it to a jacka$$ to hear something, not understand it and report it... not the poster, but the person who wrote the article. The ACTUAL point that is trying to be made is during financial crisis, people tend to get more into "ESCAPIST" movies and music. Further more, which also demonstrates how ignorant the article writer is, we have been in a recession in the US for over a year... well before AC/DC started touring or even announcing the album, though their is probably a decent tie-in to people seeking out bands like Metallica, AC/DC and going into more fantasy type movies as a DISTRACTION/ESCAPE before the world around them.
Exactly, If anything AC/DC come to the rescue during tough times and make the world a better place... But the article is stupid hence I said it was a funny read.
