"Rocker " in Denver 25. November 2008?
Check out this site and tell me they're just kidding?! http://www.setlist.fm/stats/acdc-23d6807b.html?tour=Black+Ice I think someone would post it here but the infos on that site looks very serious, so what's right? Maybe they've not played the whole song but some riffs of it?
Heard nothing of the sort. Though in the Denver show, they completely screwed up Back In Black
Yes, they really did. I found it at youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3sEVMjLOYM Thanx!
According to: http://acdctour2008-2009.blogspot.com/, the setlist was as follows: Setlist: Rock n Roll Train Hell Ain't a Bad Place To be Back In Black Big Jack Dirty deeds done dirt cheap Thunderstruck Black Ice The Jack Hells Bells Shoot to thrill War Machine Anything Goes You Shook Me all night long TNT Whole lotta Rosie Let There Be Rock Encore: Highway To Hell For Those About To Rock The same old same old. The usual 5 songs from Black Ice, the usual gotta-play songs (Highway to Hell, Back in Black, etc) and nothing old, rare or obscure, those terms being defined as songs from past 'albums' they never or rarely played live before (from AC/DC, the album band!!!)...
As for the mistake, it's OK to fuck up, but you'd think they'd fuck up one of their new tracks, not one they've played 1 000 000 times before. The thing is, in the interviews of the last 25 years, they're pretty cocky about not really rehearsing anything or trying out much during a soundcheck. So what AC/DC has become is an island of lost opportunity. The tightest musicians in the world, but with absolutely no flexibility because they just don't put the effort in to connect with their music (past and present), take it to the next level and forge new connections with their fans. This lack of rehearsal and effort (they have a day off before each show this tour - plenty of time to sit around and give a fuck for a change) is reflected in things like the Back in Black fuckup. God knows they've had enough time to get it right, so how can they fuck up now? If I were them, I'd be very pissed off following that show and would take a couple hours the next day (or even that night) to jam the band back to the point where they are actively communicating again with themselves and with the audience. This should not have happened...
Ouch... That was horrible to watch the screw ups...it's like they weren't even connecting... Hopefully this will not be the last tour, so they can keep on with the current set, but then take a year off, and do another tour, where they pull songs out of their catalog of songs...even doing songs that haven't been done live in over 15 years... Maybe even pull songs out of the unreleased sections...come on, it's been done before.
Well you can tell from the start it was going pretty rough, and how Angus could have possibly skipped the whole beginning to the solo I have no idea, but I guess Mal expected him to improvise and make up for lost time on the solo, whereas the rest of the band just went with Angus. It hurts to watch, but I wonder if the fans even noticed. At MSG, the sound was so broken up that I couldn't hear if Angus fucked up every single solo. Every solo was crackling in my ears. As much as they stand by their huge Marshalls, I think they need smaller amps mic'ed through the PA, especially because then you could hear Brian (I barely heard him in MSG).
Yeah I couldn't hear Brian at the Chicago show on the 30th. But dailydoseofacdc said that it all sounded good to him so maybe we weren't sitting in the right place
OUCH... Can you say Alzheimers! Yup.. Can understand the new songs, or I can understand a screw up in an extended arraingement, like a few tours ago when they did long version of Boogie Man... but a canned version of BIB???
