Black Ice on vinyl unavailable in Australia

I've been trying to buy the vinyl version since the official release 2 months back. But no luck yet. The main/best record outlet here in Adelaide (which specialises in vinyl) has been unable to get any from the Australian distributor. I'm not sure if other cities, particularly Melbourne and Sydney, have been similarly affected. The said record store has had to resort to ordering it as an import - hence it will cost around A$70, apparently. Not real happy, but what else can we do? Does anyone know why this might have heppened?

Do you guys have a JB Hi Fi in Adelaide? I know the Melbourne store in the city here has copies of AC/DC vinyl but haven't been in there lately. But by the sounds of it you have already ordered it. If not try the Adelaide City store but if your completely out of luck you could try to contact the member Nightprowler. I'm not going to post his e-mail without permission but if you pm'd him I'm sure he would help you out one way or another.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes we have 5 outlets of JB Hi-Fi here in Adelaide - I must admit, I thought they only sold equipment, and was unaware that they sold CD's and vinyl. I'll check out the Adelaide store on the weekend - if they don't have it then no one does. I haven't ordered one from Big Star records - only put my name down on the list for one (no deposit), so I'll buy it from the first place that it's available.

I ordered mine from amazon.com.uk because apparently no copies are coming to australia in the near future. It translated into about 38 aussie dollars posted when I ordered it and they sent it the next day. Thats cheaper than I could find it from anywhere in oz.

Went to JB Hi-Fi today (their Adelaide city store) and they had a massive selection of CD's and DVD's, however, not one LP/vinyl. So thanks for the advice of ongalagonga (above), I just purchased mine from amazon in the UK for 16 pounds including postage, which works out to be about A$36. Thanks for that, you have saved me about $15 or $35, depending on whatever price the retailer eventually sells them for, in the unlikely event that they ever get any to sell. How long did it take to arrive to you after ordering? I can't beleive how elusive the LP is in Australia and why this has happened.

It arrived in about a week, so I was pretty happy with that! Unfortunately I haven't been able to listen to it yet. Its sitting under the christmas tree all wrapped up..... 15 sleeps to go now

It's hard to believe it would be elusive anywhere. It was/is readily available in the states from the official store. I had some hopes of seeing some vinyl for sale in Walmart on the release date, but wasn't overly surprised when none were on the shelves. Hopefully they will start becoming more available soon. Mine arrived in the mail after preordering about 4-5 days after the release date.

Well my vinyl copy has finally rockup up after waiting for 7 weeks. What a relief. The first one got lost in the post somewhere, so Amazon.com sent me a replacement, which took about 2 weeks to get here.
