Hey guys this will be the first (and probably the only) time i ever get to see ac/dc in concert (i'm gonna see em when they come to australia) and i intend to film it with a hard drive camcorder which isnt huge but wouldnt fit in your pocket very well. Here's a few questions for people who have already been to one of the 2008 shows.. As this is my first time, i have no experience of what to watch out for... 1. Will i have to sneak the camcorder in or do they not really care? 2. Do they do a bodysearch at the door, or check bags or anything? 3. Are there some easy ways to sneak it in, or do i have to shove the camcorder up my arse? 4. Whats a good method of deception? please answer as i dont want my camcorder taken off me, because i really want to film the gig..

The show i went too, security didnt care. I even asked one member and she said "if its not a professional camera, you can bring it in." you do get searched but its only a pat down. but if your gonna have to sneak it in, put it in the shoes. or arse if you prefer. but i had no problem with the camera inside security just doesn't care

I held my camera in my hand on the way in. All they did to me was pat down my midsection. Guess they didnt care about the whole recording setup in my right pocket...

There was no metal detector or pat down in either of the 2 Oakland shows. Everybody just handed over their ticket and walked right in. I heard that security hassled some people with camcorders and asked them to stop filming, but they didn't get in trouble or anything. I would just get pants or a jacket with really big pockets and put the camcorder in the pocket.

First of all since it's an Australian concert I wouldn't be too phased about getting 'caught'. At all the concerts I have been to I have only ever had one pat down and that was because my phone set the metal detector off at the Guns N' Roses concert. Every other concert I have been to had no pat down or metal detector. Since AC/DC will be the biggest concert of the year in Australia, it'll be guaranteed to have a bag search then and there as you enter the door. My advice would be to put the camera in a jacket pocket and if you have a bag let them look through it. Let them know you have nothing to hide by letting them look through it. The more suss you look and the more you look like your trying to avoid someone or something the more likely they are going to target you. And even if they do happen to see it I wouldn't worry to much as long as you haven't tried to hide it. Remember the security is for weapons and for terrorist measures so they won't be looking for recording devices. But once you get in that would be the hard part done. There are so many people taking photos and stuff anyway that they would have to target you to catch you so I wouldn't be too worried. Most of all have fun and remember to share it! lol

I went to three shows last year. For the two at Madison Square Garden I did not get a pat down at all. I walked in with my carmera in hand, and could have actually walked in with a camcorder if I knew it was going to be that easy. For the show at the Izod in New Jersey, I got a pat down but held my camera in my hand. I went with my son and could have stuck a camcorder in his coat, as he got no pat down at all. My suggestion, bring your kid brother/cousin/neighbor/whatever.
