I have always imagined getting to pick my own AC/DC concert setlist. I too would pick all rare live songs. The only problem I might have with this list is Jailbreak. I love the song, but it's really easy to find live. It is on an official release after all. They should just do a concert a day for about a week and do a couple whole albums a day. Then we would have every song they've ever done live! Although I doubt they would do Rockin In The Parlour. The Youngs don't seem to like Dave that much...
I think you've got a great alternate setlist there, ydnar. The problem is AC/DC see themselves primarily as ENTERTAINERS, not ARTISTS, so they give in to the gimmickry of, say, a Hells Bell, a bunch of cannons, a giant inflatable sex toy, a 9 minute guitar solo completely lacking at this point in spontanaeity and an idiot dumbfuck rock and roll train (of which the words are NEVER mentioned in the song), rather than access the ARTISTRY of their EXTENSIVE back catalog. It seems to me that AC/DC live have forgotten that music is consumed through the EARS, not the EYES. They give an impressive BANG live, but it's all pretty rote by now since they are so dependent on their GIMMICKRY, although it must be said that in listening to their latest concerts, it really feels that Brian has grown into an artist with his joyful and emotionally honest takes on the lyrics. Angusrocks: AC/DC may claim to be an album band, and that is true as long as it can be printed and someone is willing to buy it (in other words, it's as true as any advertising or public relations material you may read). In truth, they are a singles band and only deliver singles live. There is a minor exception on this tour since there are no real CD singles (just the digital single of RnR Train). An argument could be made that they are on the path to becoming an album band as they are playing 20% of the songs live and, who knows, at this rate, they may recognize the artistry of all of their songs by sometime around 2050 to 2075. However, to quote Sapator as to the chances that they will actually play a full album live: "Not gonna happen." That is something an ARTIST would do and AC/DC have been demonstrating for approximately 25 years that they are ENTERTAINERS (and damn good ones), not ARTISTS. A few songs to add to ydnar's setlist: It's a Long Way to the Top DT Chase the Ace The Furor Let's Make It Come and Get It Meanstreak RnR Damnation If You Want Blood High Voltage She's Got Balls Personally, I'm of the opinion that with this probably being the last tour and album, they should be playing It's A Long Way to the Top and Ride On for every show. Again, to quote Sapator: "Not gonna happen." Let's just hope that Brian's solo tours following AC/DC's retirement pull out a lot more of these unheard tracks. I'd pay good money to see (and hear) that.
Blow up your video, Flick of the switch, Fly on the wall, Stiff Upper Lip albums and Stick Around, Can i Sit Next To You Girl And R n' R Singer. I would love love to hear It's a Long Way To The Top and Can i sit next to you girl live. Maybe we'll hear some suprises in european tour or at least in open air tour.
Carry Me Home Crabsody in Blue Borrowed Time These songs would really pay tribute to Bon. Borrowed Time almost is a Bon Scott song - it's a riddle why they did not include it on BUYV.
