The gap between Let There Be Rock and Highway To Hell is short because all of the sudden my batteries dies on me. This was recorded from row 51, right next to the sound-booth. Enjoy! AC/DC 2009-01-19 Xcel Energy Center St. Paul, MN, USA Audience Recording I ripped this from my Samsung videotape recorder. Unfortuneatly, the tape ran out at the end of War Machine. jachamern, you wouldn't be able to upload the video, preferably in DVD format, would you?
Yeah I would love to have a copy of the video. If you can't upload the DVD maybe we can set up a trade?
The DVD is crap. Although the audio, sounds nice to me. My cell phone footage of the last 38 minutes was better.
Oh ok... I was hoping that there would be a DVD of this show.. oh well.
Video really that bad on the DVD? That's a shame. I would like to see the cell-phone footage, though. That at least can be converted to DVD; not ideal, but conversion from source material rarely is.
I second that request... If you have time to upload the cell phone footage that would be great!
Here is the last 38 minutes of the concert from my cell phone. It is a recording of poor quality! I would not advise anyone to download this unless they were there or want to add the last 38 minutes of the concert to my version of the concert. It is 37.2 mb. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1TYXPDS6
Regardless of the quality, it's still a recording of historical value. I'd like the first half and merge them into a complete DVD, still, but of course it's your choice as to what is shared.
Did anyone get a thank You from AC/DC after their concert? Check this website out, http://www.xcelenergycenter.com/photogallery/gallery.jsp?SECTION_ID=39
Yeah I got that email... pretty cool! I sure hope they post a video like they did for the November concert... We'll see.
There appears to have been less drinking at this concert than the one in November. The bars had fewer people in them prior to the concert. The weather was fine with a temp of about 15-20 degrees F; it had been below zero for many days prior to the concert. So, everyone was in a good mood to watch the world's best rock n' roll band. Yes, The Answer was on scene at the Excel Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. And, some people actually watched them play this time. The word was that The Answer were a good band; however, from what I heard, one member stuck out as being the best. Who? The lead singer and guitarist stood out. Myself, I don't know who he is or weather he was good because I never saw them. I am one of the ones who couldn't care if The Answer were there at the Excel. The Answer was the opening band for both St. Paul concerts, but I never saw them once. Well, enough about The Answer; let’s see what the boys were up to one night in January 2009. The concert started a couple of minutes late this time. Again, there were very few screens to watch the cartoon. We estimated that 20% of the people had no access to the screens. The cartoon is fine; yet, I noticed one thing important this time. Angus escapes the train before it crashes; however, Brian Johnson is left on the crashing train. Remember Brian is back two cars in the train getting a BJ from the girl. He isn't seen escaping the train. This is the start of a trend as later on the whole rhythm section is crushed by the "Hells Bell" in the "War Machine" Cartoon, which is new this time around. I guess only Angus survives the videos. "Rock n Roll Train' is such a strong song that is being played everywhere these days. "Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be" sounded good. How AC/DC gets this perfect sound for this song in concert is amazing. Whoever does the sound for this song deserves a raise! "Back in Black" drew a large cheer from the awe struck crowd. Any fan that doesn't perk up during this song is too drunk or dead in their seat. Big Nate or as AC/DC calls it "Big Jack" was a surprise for me because I forgot that they played it on the tour. The song seems to grow on people as they listen to it more often. "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" is a rocker that causes the fans to cheer loud. The song is really appreciated by the fans. "Thunderstruck" sounds better this time around; they apparently have improved their performance on this song. Last time, the band was in St. Paul, this great song suffered from something? Something that hurt the song compared to earlier tours. "Black Ice" has grown on me over time, yet the band could play "Sin City" here instead. 1/3rd of the crowd sat down during "Black Ice"; infect, a few people near me turned around and shared drinks and food. They were literally sitting backwards. Many chose this song to go take a piss. I sat through "The Jack" for the first time in many tours. I went with two AC/DC virgins this time around, so I stuck around to watch the song. Thanks to Alison and Rachel for putting up with me and Thomas at the concert. Personally, I only air guitared some, so I didn't embarrass anyone too much. I guess I was busy with my camera, and didn't have two free hands to air guitar. Some may remember that Thomas and I won an air guitar contest to appear on stage during the Who Made Who tour. Brian had a huge smile/grin during the start of "Hells Bells"; he must enjoy this song. Everything went great during the song. However, twice during the concert we had delays between songs because Brian's microphone didn't work. This causes long delays between songs in the concert bootleg. "Shoot to Thrill" is a killer song, and it must be included in every AC/DC concert! Attention AC/DC fans! "War Machine" is now even better with a new cartoon video. You have got to see it!! Personally, I missed "Anything Goes" because my camera died and I had another one that I had borrowed from my brother, but I couldn't get it to work. So, I took out my phone and did the last part of the concert with it. The Virgins apparently really liked "You Shook Me All Night Long". Over drinks the night before, we had voted "Powerage" as the one CD we would want if we were stranded on a deserted island. Also, we voted "TNT' as the one song we would want if we could only have one song. AC/DC performed the song for us all that night. Thank you Angus, Malcolm, Cliff, Phil, and Brian! You guys rock! Virgin Alison had no idea that Rosie would appear, and she enjoyed it immensely. Rosie looks nice again. Do I have a thing for Rosie? I don't know. See you next time sweaty. "Whole Lotta Rosie" rocks! No question! "Let There Be Rock" is Angus, Everyone gets to focus on him in order to see how amazing he is as a guitar player. The encore was "Highway to Hell". Everyone has heard it a million times, yet the millionth and one time is more than worth it. "For Those About to Rock" is a great song, and everyone in St. Paul loved it. The band appeared to perform better this time around. Thank you Angus! Also, Brian! Phil, Cliff, and Malcolm are the backbone of this band. Phil is still my favorite member with Cliff a close second. The world's best rock n' roll band is AC/DC! No Question!
