AC/DC tracker?
I dunno if this has been discussed before, but it'd be sick to have an AC/DC tracker for live video and audio of AC/DC. I don't know how hard this is nor the costs of running it, but it'd be a neat idea.
what kind of tracker? a way to keep track of your bootlegs or just every bootleg in general? Nate
Ahh...I'm talking about a torrent tracker. A.K.A. we have a specific place where we can upload AC/DC torrents and download them as well, hopefully in lossy formats and also videos.
i've personally got no idea of how torrents work, so I'm no help here. If someone can explain to me how they work and what would be needed for a torrent tracker, I'd be happy to see what I can come up with. Nate
We actually don't even need our own tracker, if we could convince the members to upload their files onto a pre-existing tracker. The following trackers are purely for live music: www.dimeadozen.org www.zombtracker.the-zomb.com www.onemoresolo.net The main rules of the trackers are that the files must be in a lossless format, and no commercially released material. The basic idea behind torrents is that someone puts a torrent file up to download on a tracker. The torrent file get downloaded by someone, who opens the file in a bittorrent client (such as azerueus or bittorrent). The person who upped the torrent file to the tracker seeds (shares) the songs through the bittorrent system to those who downloaded the torrent file. As soon as a downloaded has started downloading a piece of the song, he can share with all the other downloaders the piece he downloaded. Once a downloader is done downloading, he leaves the file on the bittorrent client and seeds the songs to other downloaders. Bittorrent leads to incredibly fast downloads, if there are many seeders, because a downloader can then be recieving pieces of the songs simultaneously from all of the seeders. I hope I didn't confuse anyone too much. If anyone offers a better explanation, feel free to post it.
at www.acdc-downloadscjb.net we use a program called Peer2Mail. we just upload the file on an e-mail account and then what is sent to the e-mail account can be downloaded using the p2m program it's really good and the downloads are very fast. I get loke an average of about 30kbs on the hub but using this program I get an average of 300kbs
