Is this the "Last Tour?"
I hear rumors from abroad that some people are calling this the "last tour." Is there any statement from the band or someone close to the band who knows if this is true?
no!!!!!there's no official annoucment!!!!!!!FOKKNG RUMORS!!!!!duddo no believe it!!!!
even if it is, theyll probs do one-off shows like they have in the past. e.g playing the first gig at the reopened hammersmith apollo .
Could be and Brian hinted about it but it will depend on how long it's gonna take them to release another studio album.
Well, this is how I look at it. Razors Edge released in 1990, BB in 1995, SUL in 2000, and BI in 2008. So at that rate, if there is ever another album, it will be around 2013-2016. BJ will be 62 by the end of this current tour. I really can't see him, or anyone else for that matter, being able to do another world tour (even a stripped down one with half as many shows), when he is 67, 68, 69 or 70. And at this late stage of their careers, they wouldn't replace him with a younger lead singer. That just could never happen - it would be a joke if they did. The key really is what Malcolm and Angus decide to do. If the press repeatedly ask them the question, I reckon they'll just play a straight bat and sort of avoid giving a direct answer - and I think this is because Malcolm and Angus especially don't really want to contemplate winding up what's been a huge part of their lived for over 35 years. So my question would be - where would the band likely play their last ever show? (Excluding any one-off shows like at the Hammersmith as suggested above). At the end of the day, I always like to refer back to a review of the 1981 Adelaide concert held at Memorial Drive (Note to BigNate - can you post this one on the Concert History report?): "That's AC/DC after all. And, as the gent beside me yelled after the first song, "AC/DC will never die"."
actually yeah come to think about - look at the stones, who ect, AC/DC still have at least another studio album/tour in them after black ice album/tour.
I don't think this will be THE last tour. The band is allegedly signed to Columbia/Sony BMG for a couple more albums. Just wait and see, this ain't the last of 'em.
After seeing The Who last night in Adelaide - with Roger being 65 and Pete 63 - I would have to say: 1) That when AC/DC finally get here late this year, I won't be disappointed. Their ages range from 53 to 61, so I can't see it being much of an issue. As the countless concert reports have mentioned, Angus does not duck walk as much as he used to, but if that's the only difference, well it's not the end of the world. 2) That the band should be able to go on for a while yet with the possibilty of another world tour - perhaps scaled down a bit - in 4-5 years time.
