An Idea For The Site (Oi, Nate)
From the last BOTM, i'm happy with the download (thanks Nate) but I also really wanted to hear a couple of songs from the other bootlegs that where being voted on (Badlands,Have a drink) I was thinkin' (it hurt a bit) why not get 2 BOTM's going? From the 1st to the 15th - the usual, vote on which BOTM you want. From the 15th to the end of the month - That bootleg is available to download. My idea to is to include. From the 15th to the end of the month - vote for which other song or two you wanted from the other 3 BOTM that had been voted for. From the 1st to the 15th, while voting is cast for the BOTM, the song or two is available for download. _____________________________________ 1st to 15th - Vote's for BOTM - Download the bootleg track (1 or 2 songs) voted for __________________________________ 15th to the end - Download BOTM - Vote for Track of the month Would this be a plausable idea Nate?
He has bandwidth and I think people would like to have whole bootlegs instead of 1 or 2 songs
Yeah, but he has mentioned that the downloads will be up from the 15th to the end of the month or unless bandwith runs out. Having 2 full bootlegs would be nice, but it would definitly use it all up and thered be a lot of people missing out. The downloads have been averaging about 900 downloads. If there was 2 boots, it would be close to 2000 downloads a month... I have a feeling bandwith would expire very quickly and by the time the second one came around, it could all be used up!
In all honesty, I hate sharing single songs. 9 times out of 10 these songs get passed around and the information about the location and date are lost, so people have these songs with no info behind them. I hated it when I was just starting to trade and I hate it now, so that won't be available. Not trying to sound like an ass, just how I feel. Aside from that, the bandwidth is still an issue. I just posted about it possibly maxing out again this month, as well as about a possibility of a new host with more resources. A lot of it depends on my personal income, as well as the donations (all of which I'm extremely grateful for). Hope this explains a little bit of why the site is limited to 1 bootleg per month. In the future more may be available, but a lot of things would have to fall into place to have that happen. Later, Nate
Yeah I already figured a bandwith problem would arise indefinitly if there was 2 boot's runnin'.. thats why I suggested the single song for download 'cause it wouldnt use up that much of bandwith compared to the entire boots. Hope ya find some funding and all goes well with the new hosts. Keep up the good work.
read the hub section, follow the instructions and you'll get what you want, you only need a minimum of 1GB to access it...
