Other Music the band listens to
i have always wondered what other types of music the band members listens to besides their own i want to know what brian and angus listens to it would be cool if they listen to the the same stuff i like
They probably listen to blues and old rock n roll. I know for a fact that Angus loves old blues and rock n roll, I think the same is true with Malcom. For the others, I don't know. I'm sure they listen to some new age stuff on occasion to see what the rest of the music world is up to.
they lsiten to blues and old rnr just like boothjorden said. muddy waters, led zeppelin, yardbirds, the who, stones, jeff beck, little richard, hendrix. and i know for a fact that phil rudd lieks the beatles and free
I think Phil Rudd is also a fan of Led Zeppelin. Angus and Malcolm's favourite band is the Rolling Stones (if not favourite for both of them, then at least one of their favourites). Probably early Stones more than anything. Angus has also stated many times he loves Muddy Waters, and also Pete Townshend. Angus has gone on record saying that he saw Led Zep live when they toured Sydney in 1972, and thought that they were crap (well at least that's what he said about Rober Plant - "They were throwing things at the lead singer...")
Malcolm is a big fan of T Rex i believe, he once said that Marc Bolan is the only rock star to make it on his wall, ill be he was excited to be on the show in '76
Phil is a HUGE fan of The Beatles. I read that he learned to play alot of beatles songs where he learned his swing ability in rock n roll. mal and ang are big fans of The Who (great live band at this age btw) Cliff is a huge mystery cuz you never hear anything about him. Brian likes to listen to some of the new music like The Answer. Which is how I think they got the opening spot for the tour.
In a european interview just before going on tour last year, I remember Brian stating that he listens to all kinds of music, so my guess is he listens to modern rock, older/blues/rock and roll, some jazz, pop and mabbies even some country.
I recall Jonna saying he likes old jazz stuff. I could be wrong but Coltrane comes to mind.
Brian used to really like Erin Burden, Joe Cocker and some Beatles and Zeppelin stuff. The Young brothers love the blues, early rock 'n' roll and The Stones and Malcolm used to be into a little bit of Beatles stuff and T.Rex, Erin Clapton. Angus is a fan of Aretha Franklin and Cliff liked Procol Harum and The Byrds.
