I have to say, My jaw hit the floor and I let out the loudest WTF when I heard that!! I have no clue what is going on with that. In all honesty, I have stopped trying to figure out what the guys in AC/DC are doing (same setlist since show #1- basically). I have loved and followed this band for many years and I hope to God that when they come back to the US, the setlist is different. I know we are all wondering why they haven't altered it.

I agree with daclarob. This is a Thin Lizzy cover band and should be playing at casinos or county fairs.

talkin with the mrs last night about this, shes a neutral!, she suggested Hayseed Dixie, had to concur, theyre a good band, and contrary to the myth put about by the press, THEY ARE NOT AN AC/DC TRIBUTE BAND!!!!! but as for me, I stand by my idea of last year before the tour started, ROSE TATTOO, a little Australian band, you may have heard of them,AIRBOURNE have basically built there sound round theres, Ive seen the Tatts a number of times since the 80s and I defy anyone to come out of one of their gigs unimpressed, even after 30+ yrs and more tragedy than AC/DC,these guys play like their lives depend on it and for my money, for RnR,guts n balls, they would blow DC off stage or damn near. Put it this way, Hornby trains & inflatable dolls aside, before the vaudeville showbiz shit took over,AC/DC were,to my mind at least, A great rock band, still are just a bit too happy to rely on props n past glory, maybe they do need someone from the same back yard as they started from to kick em up the arse a bit. now im gonna put my body armour on and wait for the attack its only my opinion people and remember, opinions are loike arseholes, everyones got one peace out dave

My favourite openers are: Rose Tattoo Motörhead Airbourne Status Quo V8 Wankers (Germany) Chrome Division The Carburetors and so on.... There are a lot of brilliant bands worth enough to open for AC/DC, but Claudia Cane ? Well, goin' to Gelsenkirchen tomorrow and have some beer before 9 pm ;-) Cheers, PSW3141 http://psw3141-carrymehome.blogspot.com/

WTF?? A cover band supporting AC/DC?? What the hell is this about? Is this a joke? Now I've got nothing against Thin Lizzy. I hardly know any of their music. But I thought their were two main reasons for having a support band: 1) To provide some additional entertainment/value for the punters. 2) To provide the opportunity for an up and coming band to play in front of an audience (ie crowd size) that they wouldn't normally do. This additional exposure may end up helping the band headline to similar crowds in the years to come. So I can't really see how a cover band helps any up and coming band. As for the Rosy Tatts, I only saw them once, when they played in front of 80,000 at Calder Park Raceway in 1993 as one of the support acts for GNR. But that was unfortunately from a distance of 200m, so doesn't really count. But I take your point daclarob. I think it was on the 25th anniversary of Bon's death in 1995 that one of the music mags (Spin, Hit Parader??) ran a cover story on Bon. It contained a letter that Angry Anderson wrote about Bon. In the letter, he stated how Bon was the only person that he would welcome to sing up on stage with the Tatts, at any time he wanted to. So that shows the respect that they had for each other. It also demonstrates how similar the two bands were in that mid/late 70's era. Another band which AC/DC had great respect for was The Angels. Also an Aussie band. They supported AC/DC on the 1981 tour downunder. The review of the Adelaide Memorial Drive concert on that tour even mentions how great The Angels were as support act: http://acdc-bootlegs.com/concerthistory/?gig=853 Would we enjoy Whole Lotta Rosie any less without the giant inflatible doll? We'll all seen her since the 91 tour. For me, if they kept the Bell and the cannons, that would be enough for me. Would love to see a return to the 1980-83 era shows.

I agree daclarob - the Tatts would be a terrific support act for AC/DC in Australia. They're from the same stable (Alberts), the same era and would have massive pulling power. You've got my vote.

So the Tatts, supporting Wolfmother, supporting Acca Dacca? Similar thing happened in 1993. The Tatts supported Skid Row, who supported GNR, at both Eastern Creek Raceway in Sydney and Calder Park in Melbourne. There was one more band but can't think if who it was.
