I've never even heard of these guys! Supposedly (In reading a recent news article) they are Metal legends from Canada. I find that rather hard to believe... Has anyone heard of them? I'm just curious as to why AC/DC is not having a band with a little more recognition opening up for them

Seriously dude? Yer first 'DC concert being in 1988, making you (at a guess) at least 15-16 yrs old, and you've never heard of Anvil? Shame on you, sir. Supported Metallica on their first Brit tour etc, etc. Yeah, not exactly stadium rock, but I can't believe you've never heard of them....

No, sorry... I've never heard of them. Even when I lived in Europe from early 90 through 93, I got to see a lot of metal shows like Testament, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeath, and others, I never even heard of my buddies talking about them. Guess I'll have to check them out before I take in the show in Foxboro. Are they going to be on the entire tour?

Man i can't believe Anvil will open for AC/DC, i've seen these guys on numerous occasions, they are totally legendary and old school heavy metal, borderline thrash. I saw them play in Quebec City in front of 30 people and thrash fests in Montreal and Toronto, i think they deserve this coz they've been around for so long and never changed their style. A bit like AC/DC have done, with just a tis bit more success hehe...

To be honest, I've never heard of Anvil either, well, I've HEARD of them and was aware of their existence but never heard their music. I just thought they were some click band in the '80's.

well lets see, alongside Diamond Head and the NWOBHM,Anvil were cited as being a major influence on Metalli-cash,and considered one of the first "speed" metal bands, unfortunately due to shite record deals and even worse production on their albums, they never did gain the success they deserved given their worldwide popularity and excellent live shows. Daves tip for the day, if you get the chance to watch their new movie, DO SO, knocks Spinal Tap straight into the bargain bucket!! saw em last in glasgow last year, when their film was shown, they were doin a promo tour where the film was shown then you got an hour long gig from the band, then a meet and greet with their fans. These boys love what they do and they love their fans, when was the last time you stood talking to a "rock star" and they thanked you for still coming to see em after all these years and for buying their music? was lucky enought o see em a few times in the 80s as well, great shows, good music well played AND a sense of humour!! These guys deserve to be FUCKIN MASSIVE, theyve worked hard and long and never gave up,now thats Rock N Roll!!

Ok got the singer! If you see the film DragonHeart(voice of the dragon=Sean Connery ) the singer looks like the wicked prince-king on this movie.

I don't see how a metal band would be a relevant opener for AC/DC.
