Paris - Stade de France - June 12
Got my ticketless for Paris but since they played in Greece i decided i will save myself about 600Euros and will not attend. Maybe on 2010? ;)
oh, you also know there'll probably be something in Paris next year too.. ;-)
Hopefully they'll pull out Ride On or some other obscure, beloved song for the Paris audience... Hopefully they're smart enough to record this show as part of a multi-DVD release for the future, too... Two things are certain re: this show - Paris loves AC/DC and AC/DC loves Paris...
Well i don't know for sure for next year but i'm usually correct ;) Ride on, don't think so but i'll be waiting an encore after For those. If i see one then i'll know that the DVD is in Paris :) (Although Greece was the maddest AC/DC gig i've ever gone to and the DVD would be a must :( )
no add(ride)-on for Paris got a media pass though and have been able to shoot some cool pics: http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/5440/sdf13.jpg
They weren't gonna change the setlist now.We were talking about next year.
You do realize they played Ride On in remembrance of John Lee Hooker, right? Not because France is any better than the rest of the world.
The show was great though the show in 2001 was greater. I submitted pics of the show for the site.
suicide i know what they did but i also recall an encore for the Stiff upper lip dvd, right? ;) And i actually were in 2001 show in Paris and yes i think those shows were better than 2008-2009.
Uh, yeah, there was an encore at Munich. I don't see how that relates to what I was saying though. And of course the 2001 show was better; they were younger and Brian didn't sound like he sucks helium before every show.
So what are you saying? :) The DVD was decided to be recorder in Germany or France. There would be an encore even if Hooker wasn't dead (of course not Ride on).
I meant exactly what I said. I never said they wouldn't have played an encore.
??? You're saying that they Played Ride on in France because the man was dead and not because France is better from the rest of the world. I'm saying that the DVD was to be recorder in France or Germany. So what the hell are we talking about!? :P
Yeah, you got my point. So why did you say "suicide i know what they did but i also recall an encore for the Stiff upper lip dvd"?
Because i thought you meant that there would have been no encore in Paris if the man was not dead.
Methinks Sap is reading too much into what's not there. ;)
Well maybe :) Also "what's not there" is that the DVD location will probably be...France ;) Will see...
JAYSUS MARY N JOSEPH!!!!! encore,no encore, mebbes aye, mebbes naw! never havin been one to understand this encore shite, from what ive seen theyve done 2 maybe 3 in what? 30 odd yrs, fuck me people, AC/DC are like death n taxes, your guaranteed they will close with FTATR unless theres 2 moons in the sky or 1 of Mals heroes shuffles off this mortal coil!! and from what ive seen the only reason they bugger off stage as much now is because, like it or not, they are all old farts and they need the coupla minutes to suck up on the o2 masks. As for official DVDs,who cares where its from? you think those nice big cams at the front of the stage aint recording while feeding into the vid screens? Christ on a motorbike people, any DVD could come from anywhere in the world and you know what? WE WILL ALL TILL EAT IT UP LIKE ITS MANNA FROM HEAVEN.
Hahaha. No mate, please not a fight for the encore :P Listen, about the DVD, it's what i've said about the panoramic camera. No panoramic no party. If you get my point ;)
Well about the future DVD, I can't tell, but what I know is that the reason it was shot in Munich for the SUL is that it was the first sold out date.
I was in Munich 2001 and now in 2009. And it is hard to say witch show was better, for me maybe this one because I was closer to the stage about 30-40m and they played dog eat dog. In 2001 I was on tribune about 100m away. In 2001 they played second encore because we the crowd were yelling (loud as f...) more, more for about 5-10 minutes.
No.Come on.They did not play second encore for that.
I have a feeling that they will play whatever the fuck they want, regardless of how loud the crowd is. If you think your local crowd is any louder than any others, your kidding yourself. At MSG, everyone was shouting "Encore, encore!" but they didn't play any. As much as they say they're connected to the fans and understand them, they don't.
I wonder if they will play an encore for Billy Mays
LOL, Mays is my hero. Sad news. His voice is the voice of God.
metlac sorry if i offended you but the fact is that they did not play the encore because you yelled. It's because the DVD was pre-determined to be shot in Germany or France with an encore.
And because they had to take out Shot Down In Flames to fit Problem Child.
I dont belive that because it was pre-determined to be shot in Germany or France that they played second encore. Why they didnt do it then in Madrid or Donnington.
Hi, here's my opinion: I was in Munich 2001 and it was obviously that they played Shot Down In Flames for the DVD Release. The crowd wasn't so brilliant there. Ok, the first rows gave hell, but the rest of the stadium where a little bit lazy. Maybe it was kind of a gift too, because of the rapid ticket sells, but first of all it was the DVD. Two weeks later i was in Nürnberg (29.June 2001) and the venue did really burn! From front to back, the whole crowd was amazing! And they did a second encore in Nürnberg because the crowd didn't stop yelling! This second encore (SDIF too) was just for the fans. Nürnberg wasn't shot for a any release, so they did it just for the brilliant crowd.
From where I was standing in Munich the crowd was great. And you can also see it on DVD.
Actually i think that the crowd gets better the closer you get to the Mediterranean sea.No offense but i've been to shows on central Europe.
Metlac: EVERYTHING is predetermined. They had to have panoramic cameras to shoot the DVD. OleBrumm: Munich wasn't the only place they played a second encore. Most of the really big/important venues got it. It has NOTHING to do with the crowd. If you think the crowd being loud has anything to do with their setlist, you're sorely mistaken. The crowd gets better the closer you get to the stage. Nobody waaay in the back is going to be dancing and jumping around.
Dancing and jumping around? Ah you're mentioning Europe :) Just joking.
Too much arguing over damn encores, they play one, they play one, they don't then they don't.
