boothjorden:
I see you went to the show where Danger was supposedly played live... so was it?
How did it sound live? Was the crowd into it?
Wow, looks like I owe boothjorden and The Cody an apology. Based on the way they spoke and wrote on this site, I thought they were both teenage boys, no older than 14, maybe from somewhere in Alabama or elsewhere in the deep south. But if boothjorden saw AC/DC in 85/86, then he's probably much older than me. How was that show, Booth? Reports are that they couldn't pull Danger off live, but is that true? If true, did it have potential to capture the audience if AC/DC had kept going and found the way to inspire the audience's imagination with the song? I think they've done this with some of the Black Ice tracks. They sound kind of blah at the start of the tour, but the breakdown in War Machine inspired a cheer and Black Ice sounded badass live at the show I saw.
"maybe from somewhere in Alabama or elsewhere in the deep south" dont diss my south land but yes i too wonder how the crowd reacted to danger
They probably reacted like "WTF?". That's how they acted during Black Ice at the shows I went to, so a song like Danger would go over even worse. But I don't understand why people keep saying they "banned" it from live shows. That doesn't make sense. You ban others from doing things. I don't believe one could ban themselves from anything. They would just not play the song again. Whats the point of banning yourself from playing it? Anyway they've fucked up some songs royally live before, but that doesn't mean they're bad songs.
RnRDamnation: It's cool, I am 44 years old so I guess I would be older than you. I do have a teenage son who uses this site too so he sometimes uses my account. The show was a great show except for Danger, it wasn't that bad but it wasn't something you would not expect from them. From what I remember the song was played out of key (ie. too fast) and some of the parts were messed up. Brian messed up some of the lyrics on the second verse and a couple guitar parts were messed up on as well. I don't think from my stand point it would be something you would ban a song entirely for since it could have been played later on to give the band time to improve on things and to try it out again, and if that failed then ban it. I wish I gad brought a recorder or something but since I had no idea the song was going to be played or that it would be one of AC/DC's great myths I would have brought one otherwise.
I don't think the crowd was into the song due to the reasons I mentioned.
Wow they really messed up with the song. Too bad that there is no recording avaible
Wow, its like 50,000 people saw Bigfoot slip on a banana peel and nobody happened to have a camera. "it wasn't that bad but it wasn't something you would not expect from them." Do you mean, "it wasn't bad but it was something you wouldn't expect from them"? And the song being out of key (wrong chords) is different than it being out of tempo (wrong speed), so which was it?
Crap, sorry suicide, I can get mixed up in my words, yeah you wouldn't expect that from them and it was out of tempo. Sorry, I was really tired when I posted that.
No prob, just wanted to clarify. I'm still in awe; you're so lucky. I'm a huge fan of Danger so this is very intriguing to me.
Yea, I'm 14 and from Dallas, Texas. Proud southerner. Is it that obivous that I'm a teenage boy? Well, I am what I am, I guess.
Well Cody isn't a name that was very popular thirty years ago...
as am i. Booth, consider yourself one of the few who witnessed AC/DC history, i mean theres people who still think it was a rumour, but to hear it live, back when the band actually expeiremented...
I am also a proud AC/DC fan under the age of 18
Good, I am glad that there are other youngins that like the greatest Rnr band
Yeah just think if they threw on obscure songs on this tour like they used to. I mean who would have ever expected them to do Danger, Badlands, Givin the Dog a Bone, Inject the Venom, Landslide, Nick Of Time, etc.
^^Serisously! If they played these, people would go buy the record!
I think there still cool now, just not as cool as the were. I'm happy with whatever they play
I was happy with whatever they played the first time I saw them, but was already old the second time. Besides, Brian used to be a straight up badass, now he's... not.
