Van Halen Thread
put your favorite van halen album and discuss van halen with roth and hagar my favorite van halen albums are fair warning and 5150
It's good to know that there are other VH fans that like both eras. I don't see why people can't like both. Favorite Roth is Van Halen and Hager is 5150 or FUCK. I feel that the Roth era was the better era, but Hager had more deep lyrics and ballads. Hager was awesome to. Hager had a better solo carrer than Roth did. The Hager only fans are a hell of a lot nicer than Roth only fans. Sammy has had a better overall carrer than Roth. Michael Anthony was the Best Bassist that VH could ever want. Wolfgang is good, but he's not Anthony good. Eddie has become the dicktator VH. And isn't it funny how only Sam and Mike were there for the rnrhof induction?
And what do you, livewire101 think of Roth and Hager and the other things mentioned
Im my opinion the real Van Halen fans are the ones who enjoy both eras. There completely two different bands. its like randomly saying that KISS is better than Aerosmith or something like that. I personally like the "Hagar era" a little more because ive known about his solo career before Van Halen. But Roth is still good. Sammy Hagar has the better voice and DLR is the better front man also Sammy Hagar has more of a variety because hes worked with tons of other bands (Montrose, Chickenfoot, his solo band) he did ballads and stuff and i dont think there was a ballad on the Roth albums. i wouldnt wanna see a Sammy Hagar/Van Halen reunion in the near future. It would be amazing but Sammy is is awesome with his solo career and no offense but DLR would be nothing without Van Halen. PS: FUCK rocked. Top of the world and right now are awesome tunes
There new album should be a double disc where the first disc ha new Roth material and the second has new Hagar material. BTW all the Van Halen albums are good except VHIII but Gary was okay with them live. im only 13 unfortunately nobody in my school knows who Sammy Hagar is maybe my teachers do :D but thats it :(
True which is why I said he had a better overall carrer, Chickenfoot is a good band. Some people are saying the Sammy is riding the coattails of people who actually have some talant, first Ed now joe. I think there full of crap. I enjoy all Stuff Sam, Dlr, Vh related. All of it's good, from Motrose to The Mad Anthony express it's all good music
And bummer dude, same here, well kinda I have some friends who like him. 14 here dude. And your album idea sounds great, but doubt it will happen.
a funny thing that you might not of none is that in the early Van Halen club days they would cover the Montrose song "Make It Last" with Roth singing. Also the person who produced Montrose's first album was Ted Templeman who produced the first 6 Van Halen Albums. Also Joe Satriani in Chickenfoot taught Steve Vai how to play the guitar, Steve Vai didn't get his big break until he played on David Lee Roth's first solo album.
Dude that is funny. It's all one big cycle. I find Gary good, I guess. He had a good tour. I find him under appraciated though
i found an awesome Van Halen board on the internet its called vhlinks. its exactly like this one except is about Van Halen. my favorite Van Halen song with Hagar is Cabo Wabo and with Roth: Little Guitars
and if you ever get the chance watch the Van Halen dvd Live Without A Net they open with Only One Way To Rock! ITS INSANE
Already a member of links dude, thanks anyway. Song wise Hager-Right now/runaround/good enough, Roth-Aint talkin bout love/Jump/Panama. And this is off topic but do you have a facebook by any chance?
Because I have a friend that lives around where you do, and he has a friend that likes AC/DC, Def Leppard, Van Halen among others, so I was just wondering
