Some arenas have been around for a while and have sold naming rights to corporations. Collectors may not realize the band played in the same venue years earlier under the old name. In Chicago Old Name = Rosemont Horizon New Name = Allstate Arena What are the name changes in the other cities around the world?

Montreal Forum Concert Bowl later became the Montreal Forum. It's the old building where the Mtl Canadians hockey team used to play. Montreal Molson Center is now the Montreal Bell Center, but they only played there in 1996 when it was still named Molson Center. It's also the new home of the Mtl Canadians.

The Metroradio Arena here in Newcastle was once called the Telewest Arena, until 1997. However, when AC/DC played there in 1996, both this website and the Ballbreaker tour booklet that comes with the No Bull DVD simply entitle it as 'Newcastle Arena'.

Here in Atlanta, AC/DC played at an arena called The Omni in a few tours, but The Omni was replaced by Philips Arena when the city wanted to get the Atlanta Thrashers NHL team. Apparently the city wanted to get another hockey team after the former Atlanta Flames went to Calgary, but the NHL told them that a new arena would be required. Also, the Omni wasn't aging well either. So while it isn't a name change, it's a replacement. In the same spirit, when the 1996 Olympics came through, what we know as Turner Field was built as the home of the Olympic Games and was built to replace Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.
