Anything Goes dropped from setlist!!!
http://acdc-bootlegs.com/concerthistory/?gig=2031 This sucks. Especially because they didn't replace it, they just dropped it. So if they ever do shoot a DVD, it won't have Anything goes which is BS.
That's bull. It better have made it on a early DVD shoot. My favorite song off Black Ice. At least I was able to see it played live three times so I'm not terribly disappointed
Really disappointed that it wasn't replaced with anything.
Bet my money you all expected me to show up here. :) And I"m fuc#in drooling with joy! Because,because...What it was saying?...Oh yes.Apparently AC/DC have the same taste for this song as i do..FINALLY, for crying out loud, that song was NOT AC/DC!!!To bad they did not include something else but let's face it, they kicked the worst song out so anything new in will be an improvement.Good job guys!AC/DC rulez!!!!! Ok some of those were sarcastic but i really really really....REALLY hated that song.Good riddance for me.And moi thinks that the "one out" has began....Anyone will bash me if now they put a Riff Raff in, with the cost of Anything goes?
True, if they added Riff Raff I would have to stop throwing stones at Sap, lol. But really I know a LOT of people love that song and I think it's honestly the only classic off the album. My guess is that they dropped it because it didn't work live, which it definitely didn't either time I saw them. What a shame. Maybe they should give Money Made a go...
Figures that they would eventually drop it. Once that song sarted, everyone that was around me sat down(except me of course) at the San Jose show.
Maybe they did this to leave room open for another song perhaps, let's hope that's what this means.
I agree with Sap! The song sucked!! It was totally Top 40- Radio friendly so the record execs could get the album single. Sorry for the little rant, but no matter how many times I tried to listen to that track, I just couldn't do it. I'm also hoping that the open spot will will be filled by an older tune... anything from Powerage would make me a happy guy.
Leave it to AC/DC to drop one of the best songs from the album but still leave one of the worst songs as the intro (Runaway Train)... If they had replaced it with Riff Raff or If You Want Blood or even Sink the Pink, sure, but to just leave it out? C'mon... I'd say drop Runaway Train and replace it with Riff Raff. I don't care if they paid 6 million dollars for a fucking train to give a "dramatic intro" to the show! They got taken for a ride by their handlers and stage designers. Riff Raff, Live Wire and even Hell Ain't A Bad Place to Be provide plenty of dramatic intro without reducing AC/DC to 19th Century technology (do they really want to be remembered as a steam locomotive?).
suicidehummer: Didn't David Mallet already film the Paris show? I think they've got at least one DVD in the can if that is the case...
bummer...really loved that song but, yeah if they'd replaced it withRiff Raff or Go Down...that would have made it up for me
what i would do to hear Rock 'N Roll Aint Noise Pollution again ...or Bad Boy Boogie
I like the song, but I agree with sup3rdude. The crowd as a whole loses complete interest in the show when they start playing it. It is a real momentum killer.
Sup3rdude: I was at two shows and nobody sat down during Anything Goes. So either you're full of shit or San Jose fans suck. Ammojoe: Not at all. You obviously can't see how '70s this song really is. This is the most Bon-era reminiscent song since the Bon-era. This is honestly the only song that is up to AC/DC's standards on the whole album. RNR Damnation: I agree, RNR Train is a stinker. The riff sounds like a 13 year old tried to write an AC/DC song. There's no groove and Angus's tone sucks. Mallet filmed the Paris Bercy show for the Anything Goes video. They would never use an indoors concert for a tour DVD. Besides, in 2008 they didn't sound nearly as good as this year.
This tour is nothing compared to Ballbreaker or SUL. The first song is poor for AC/DC opener, although, YSMANL wasnt that good either. Anything Goes is a fuckin SHIT song, I refuse to even wonder how a die hard AC/DC fan can like that song. It is a poppy piece of turd.,,good riddance to that disgrace. The crowd hated it and everyone went to the bathroom and get a new beer when they played that thing. Sorry, but that is a fact......
Imo, RNR Train is a pretty good track, it can stay but at this point I wouldn't mind if it were removed and another, better track took it's spot, maybe Riff Raff or Guns For Hire. I think it's about time for Big Jack and Shot Down in Flames to go and be replaced as well.
GoZone: I'm a die hard AC/DC fan and I like Anything Goes, is that a crime?
Oh well, at least I got to see it live before it was dropped. I used to really hate it but it's grown on me and become a personal favourite. At the show I went to (Vancouver), 'Anything Goes' went over well. The crowd seemed into it, even though the band took about a minute's break just before the track. One song that wasn't received too well was 'Black Ice'.
Oh, and about the opener debate, I think RNR Train is the best opener since 'Guns For Hire'.
Suicidehummer, I'm trying to figure out what Bon Era song you are talking about? And the song doesn't have to compare to just Bon. Who cares if it sounds 70's, 80's 90's, or today. I just don't think it is a good song. The 5 times I saw them, from Wilkes-Barre until Montreal, the fans went to get beers when that song came on. Who knows... maybe if they put it earlier in the setlist it may have had a different affect on the crowd. And as far as what song to add... why not tracks they haven't done in years like High Voltage or If You Want Blood (I know they played it in '03, but not on a full scale tour rotation). Personally, I have heard BBB, RNRANP etc... enough and would like some deep track, but in reality, I know that ain't gonna happen. The boys will do what THEY want. Like I said... just my opinion, and I'm sure I'll get tons of backlash for expressing my thoughts...
Good riddance...it's the only AC/DC song that sucks other than Rock and Roll Dream and Love Song.
Now when is everyone going to have time for a piss break?
GoZone: You are an idiot, plain and simple. A REAL fan can not hate a song. The majority of the crowd was bored by it because the majority of the crowd only came for the hits. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out. Ammojoe: I wasn't saying that proved it was good but music was generally better back then. You just need to listen to it more. I think the song would have sucked if they took the ideas for it and tried to work them into a harder song. they just let it be what it is and that's why it came out so good.
Every AC/DC song is a gem plain of it's own and simple, and Anything Goes is no different.
So did they play something else by now, or they are waiting for Australia or Europe?
hey hammer, do not try to rationalize why you like the worst song that AC/DC ever created,,that fine..do what you please. Well, RnR Dream is right there too, that songs stinks too. The song was poor and you have shit taste in music, go listen to Winger and leave the real music to others. geek
listen to this hammer clown, " a real fan cannot hate a song by AC/DC" hahahah shut up. A real fan can be a critic too, I personally think it is a soft poppy song and I hate it, always skip it. I am a fan of harder, bluesy AC/DC like Ballbreaker and Powerage....sorry, but I do not like it.
hammer, sorry if I called u names, there is no need for that, I apologize. I just really think the song sucks, most fans I know hate it too........there is nothing ACDC about it besides the pretty cool solo. The lyrics r gay too.
Can some of us stop ranting on the song for those who actually like it please.
What the hell, that is one of the songs I've grown to love. anyways I hope the replace it with Riff Raff, Down Payment Blues, or Can I Sit Next To You Girl
I hope they replace it soon. Of course, it would be my dream to see High Voltage live, but I doubt they'll add it. Realistically, I'm thinking they'll add Bad Boy Boogie or maybe even Jailbreak because those songs were part of the set for years. I just don't know why they refuse to revisit of any of their hits from the '80s -- Who Made Who, Heatseeker, and Moneytalks all still get decent radio play -- why not pick those?
First of all, I do not like Winger. I like AC/DC, Maiden, Airbourne, Deep Purple and that's about it. Oh yeah, and Skynyrd. Anyway, I have no problem with someone criticizing AC/DC, I do it all the time. But I would NEVER say one of their songs sucks. My least favorite song is RNR Train but I would still never say that song sucks, I would just say I don't like it. Ballbreaker is my favorite album. But I can still appreciate softer albums and songs. Each song has a mood all it's own. Anything goes would have sounded awfully strange if they tried to force it to sound like a BB track. The only thing I don't like about the song is the one lyric "You better razzle dazzle on that stage". Otherwise the lyrics are some of the best on the album, which isn't saying much.
Oh yeah, and RamboIV: You got me wondering how Brian would handle the "Gimme high!" screams now...
I would expect on the tour dvd to have anything goes as an extra and maybe another song if they drop anymore before the summer
Good point Ulster. Like Cover You In Oil and Down Payment Blues on No Bull DC.
Money Made would be Great Live! My favorite track on Black Ice. So I doubt they will play it as a replacement. :(
Yep, if you want them to do it... you can pretty much expect they won't!
