Hey, does anyone know if I can buy an individual copy of Live From The Circus Krone that comes in Backtracks? I know you have that as one of the prizes for How Well Do You Know You AC/DC, and it looks official and says VH1 on it. So any help would be nice

So what will be different if you download it? You will get a colored DVD.

@ sapator Are you serious about your comment? Sounds like you download all of their official releases, if that's the case then shame on you! I'm a strong advocate on buying official releases. back top topic... donneyboy, you can check ebay if someone opened an auction of the show or not. I watched the full gig today and it totally rocks! I don't regret that I bought the amp set :-D

they said that the amp set is for a limited time only and they only made so many. i honestly think that they wouldn't take the time to polish up/remaster the Circus Krone DVD and the bonus tracks on Backtracks. Someday there probably gonna release backtracks with just the DVDs and CDs

I've heard the set is limited to 50 000 units only and honestly there's no need to remaster the circus krone show. The show has been even filmed in high def so I bet they are gonna release it on blu ray in just a matter of time.

Quote by Dirty Eye: "I don't regret that I bought the amp set" Agreed, I love this thing. The music, the video and especially the full color book. Even have the Let There Be Rock poster and the black and white stills up on my office wall.

Dirty Eye. I'm amazed!!No really i am!Did you not paid attention all this time? I have over 200, maybe close to 300, cd's of AC/DC (albums, promos, singles, boxes etc (mind you, i don't include the bootlegs on this count)), i think i've done my duty to them. So how do they repay me,us?The put out this peach of crap (i mean the boxset not the krone gig) and don't let me start bout the tour setlist. So it's time for the finger to them. I don't think you've read that i could get to the Athens show for free but i've chosen to buy a ticket.Ye, well that kind of loyalty is over now. And if you want my opinion, if you buy the boxset the same is on you my friend. For letting them drain your money with big pile of shits that they dare call rare. But really i'm amazed.Weren't you at the old acdcfans forum? You don't know my opinion all over these years?Anyway, peace.

I don't think VH1 aired the entire Krone gig, but I think that the boxset has it. I'm sure that they will release both the Krone gig and Family Jewels 3 in the future (especially FJ3). There's no way that they could make that available only as part of a boxset limited to 50,000 copies.

I already have FJ3, which I got in the standard Backtracks.

Oh yeah, I forget that you could get it that way. I still think that they'll release Circus Krone later. I'm hoping that sometime in the future they release the 5 disc set without the amp and the record and all that other crap that the limited edition set has - kind of like how when you buy Bonfire now it comes with different packaging and without the guitar pick and bottle opener.

Yes but Bonfire had a lower value when it was first released (with the guitar pick and stuff) and of the re-release they raise the value... Wankers.

All of this Boxset stuff is getting ridiculous, we don't need a working guitar amp which is why the price is so high, it's just a useless piece of junk. I would like to have the Circus Krone DVD but without an individual release this whole deluxe box is going to fail. The standard without all the trinkets and the Circus Krone DVD seems worth it with the Family Jewels DVD3 and all but all the "rarities" stuff is all things I have, no need for anymore.

Bonfire would have been worth it without Back in Black. We all know everybody and their mom has BIB by now.

Actually the price on the amp boxset was most likely due to the full color, hard cover book more than the working amp. The amp isn't the standard kind of amp you would buy in a place like Sam Ash, it's a rather crudely made thing actually that runs on a battery. The book is the kind that runs for at least $100 in any Barnes and Noble or similar type of store. Personally, I'm glad I bought it. Yes, I had most of the tracks that are on it, but they were of minor quality compared to the remastered versions on Backtracks. The book is amazing and if you haven't seen it...You don't have an opinion on it. For those that do have it, tell me that they didn't pull a real classy move with how they went from the Bon era to the Brian era with the two pages of solid black? That simple idea grew a trumendous feeling of both grief and pride in me for one of the greatest frontmen that ever lived. Plus, the working amp comes in handy for when I practice at home on my bass so my neighbors don't start banging down my door when I use my regular amp. Then there's the Circus Krone DVD that is just pure awesomeness. Then there's the FJ3 DVD, the vinyl and the extra stuff like posters and pics that round it out to make it a great boxset in my opinion. I'm glad they released it and it was worth every dime as far as I'm concerned. I find it disgusting that some people are crapping all over them for putting out something that I've wanted for a very long time. If you don't want it or can't afford it that's your problem.

I was thinking not to replay cuz it's getting boring but i like your nickname ;) "I find it disgusting that some people are crapping all over them for putting out something that I've wanted for a very long time." Well ok, nobody forced us to buy it and nobody forced you not to buy it. But the fact still remains that 95% are bashing the boxset and the setlist, among them the majority of the hard core fans. "Plus, the working amp comes in handy for when I practice at home on my bass so my neighbors" I can get you an 5 watt amp with 30$ . "Then there's the FJ3 DVD, the vinyl and the extra stuff like posters and pics that round it out to make it a great boxset in my opinion." Round it out to rip us off with useless mumbo jumbo , in my opinion. "I'm glad they released it and it was worth every dime as far as I'm concerned." I respect your opinion but only that. "Then there's the Circus Krone DVD that is just pure awesomeness." Agreed, put it on sale alone, i'll get it. P.S. Got an offer of free shipping of the boxset and an 10% off.I was overwhelmed and tempted and i..I DID IT!! I gave them the finger!!!

Sapator, we have different opinions on the boxset, that's cool. I'm offering the pro-view while you're offering the con-view. To each his own. Since you mentioned the setlist on this tour I want to ask something; did they have to even do a tour? These guys are in their 50's and 60's and are all millionaires. Yes, there's certain songs I would have liked to have heard live (saw them at Giants Stadium) but I was glad to have seen them none the less live. They didn't have to do a new album in 2008 and they sure as hell didn't need to do a tour but they did. That shows me that they do care about the fans. Personally I don't think the fans have the right to dictate to them what they should or shouldn't play (I am glad though that Anything Goes was dropped...I hate that song). You mentioned "hardcore fans"...that's a loaded comment. I'm 34 now and I've been listening to AC/DC since I was 5 when my oldest brother gave me my first album...the vinyl of DDDDC. So making a comment like "hardcore fans" is just asking for a dick waving contest, which is childish. One last thing...is that the Captain Crunch Sogie in your avatar? If so, that's pretty cool.

Hello again. Yes they DID have to tour.Do you know of any old band that does not tour?Stones,Maiden,Purple,Motorhead,Priest? Etc. No they didn't have to do a new album they could have called it quits. That's fine.Disappointing but fine. "Personally I don't think the fans have the right to dictate to them what they should or shouldn't play (I am glad though that Anything Goes was dropped...I hate that song)." In the account that they should play whatever song they like i agree but in the account of the same setlist for 2 years i don't agree. Anything goes...Well they should have replaced it with something else. I said MOST of the hardcore fans don't like the boxset. It's ok if you like it and i assume you had every single song in the boxset. Your choice, but i'm not giving away 200$ for a book and Circus Krone.Cuz that's the stuff that we don't have. Sorry not Captain Crunch but it's pretty cool anyhow :P P.S. My first album was...The song Big Gun from the soundtrack album. Then it was Live and then....I don't remember.I think...Not sure...Was compilation of 3 albums DDDDC,FOR THOSE and...another one.Anyway i heard Bon Scott and i was thinking "Do they have 2 singers right now?" :)

I'm mostly with Sap on this one. They didn't HAVE to tour or make an album, but the fact is they did, so why half-ass it?

@ Dirty Deeds Monetalks, I respect your opinion but the setlist is ridiculous. As fans, we have a right to express our opinions in hopes that our favorite band will hear. Two legs in the USA and 2 measly additions?? come on dude. Songs that we have heard on previous tours as well. The reason I complain is because if this is their last tour, how could they go out like this? Something seems very contrived and orchestrated about the Black Ice tour. I simply would be happy if they would just rotate some songs, just to give the show something extra. How come they ignore their last two albums? I love Hard as a Rock! Now, do not get me wrong brotha, I will still go to any show of theirs near my home (6 hour radius!). Rotate these songs every other gig. Sin City IYWB Hard as a Rock SUL MoneyTalks Who Made Who Rock n Roll Damnation etc etc

One thing I'd like to know is why there even was a family jewels with this and why it wasn't released with the original release as apart from Black Ice the other songs were already there

@ GoZone, The way I see it, they gave everybody a huge treat during the second leg of the SUL tour and during the 2003 HOF shows and don't have to do it again if they don't feel like it. All of their tours have revolved around them playing basically the same songs every night since 1979 (except for the two tours I mentioned above) anyway. They may have added a song or two here and there, but that's it. They did that with this tour with Dog Eat Dog and Shot Down in Flames. I don't know where people get this idea that they were playing a different song every other night, of every other tour. Either way, I love the boxset, I love this tour, and I'm glad that they are still doin' what they're doin' at their age. I'm not goin' to give them crap for it. I'll leave that up tp you old ladies. ;-)

So, i don't get it. Why is everybody basing the boxset and the setlist and write complain letters to them etc?Are we all crazy old ladies?Oh shit, where is my penis!!!? Anyway as i've said there are 2 different view. The funny thing is that there is no middle here.Either you bash them for acting like brain dead company robots or love them because they are still playing. So i think that is why one size looks very hostile to the other. I bought Paris tickets but if they stay with the same setlist it will be the last 80 Euros they get from me (ok maybe another ticket on the next tour at most).

Also. Sometimes i'm sarcastic or mean.Usually i get complains (you know, angry mobs under my window, with torches :P ) but believe me with very few exceptions i don't see anyone hostile.Opinions are opinions and if sometimes are extreme i would respect that as i think you should also. Peace and may Malcolm get new batteries for his stubborn robotic brain...That was a joke.Haha, batteries,...Robot...You get it?Haha...Come on, you get it? Robotic brain? :P

Sapator, I respect your honesty. I figured I'd just give the side of those who do like the boxset and aren't really bothered all that much by the setlist but didn't speak up. I agree about "not needing hostility", we're not talking politics or religion (god help us all if we do), we're talking AC/DC...the most asskicking band the world's ever known. Now I have to go and listen to Backtracks and watch Circus Krone (I couldn't help it, sarcasm works for me too sometimes also). ;-)

DD and MT: You said "All of their tours have revolved around them playing basically the same songs every night since 1979" I'm sorry but you are dead wrong. First of all, they ALWAYS changed the setlist from one leg to another over the course of a tour. Second of all, they always threw some different songs off the new album in for different legs, which they have not done now. And lastly, even when they changed the setlist only a little, they put in songs that were never done before or had not been done in a long time. For this tour, the only changes we got were songs that had been done within the last two tours.

@ suicidehummer, It's not that I'm dead wrong, I'm pointing out that they don't make massive setlist changes on each tour. Let's say that they play 20 songs a night throughout an entire tour, 17 or 18 of those will remain the same throughout the entire tour no matter which leg they are on. With Black Ice they eventually added Shot Down in Flames and Dog Eat Dog, the same way they would have added say Safe in NYC instead of Meltdown or Satellite Blues on the SUL tour. However, 98% of the setlist would remain the same. It's been that way on every tour since Highway To Hell and maybe even as far back as Powerage. There are songs I would like to hear from BI played live that they don't play (Spoilin For a Fight, Money Made, Wheels, are a few that come to mind) but there not playing them, so whatever, I don't get what I want. I'm not going to hold them at gunpoint until they do what seems like some people want them to do (metaphorically of course). I fall in the "I'm glad their still touring camp" as I believe it was Sapator put it. It's not a matter of right and wrong but a matter of what you expect out of them. I personally expect them to tear the house down every night they play, regardless of what the setlist is. Others want them to bow to their beck and call. Putting myself in their shoes, it's their band and it's their songs, they're entitled to play what they want rather than pandering to a select few. As someone who plays bass and sings and has been in several bands, if the fans don't like what we're playing than I say stay home and don't buy a ticket to our shows. It's really that simple. When a band has earned the status and money that they have, nobody has a right to tell them what to do as far as I'm concerned. They've earned the right to play whatever they damn well please as far as I'm concerned. Remember people, this is one opinion about the situation...not authorative as some people seem to want to make it because it deviats from the opinion of a few outspoken people on this site.

Actually since we come this far, if they do what they did in the previous tours and change 2 songs for the Aussie Japan Europe tour then i won't say anything and i would be glad to go see them again. It's not a huge request me thinks.

You're missing the point. On the SUL tour, they switched between Meltdown, Get It Hot, and Safe In NYC for most of the arena shows as the add-on song, for the stadium shows they added Up To My Neck In You, and for the DVD they threw in Problem Child. That's a helluva lot more deviation than we've seen this tour, and especially because they're songs that had'nt been done before.

Nah, I think Brian's whiny new voice sucks for IYWB. Jailbreak would be cool, but I'm thinking I wanna hear something off the last three albums. MoneyTalks, HAAR, SUL, or even something off the new album would be ideal.
