If AC/DC plays on Festivals again why not at Rock am Ring?! Would be much better than Cannstatter Open Air...

@send4theman wacken is a festival for meatal bands like iron maiden, children of bodom, bullet for my valentine and stuff like that... don't think ac/dc would fit to this festival By the way: Airbourne will play at rock am ring...i've heard some of you guys like them. Maybe their performance will be broadcastet on tv.

WOA? lets see 2001; Saxon Motorhead Wasp Paul DiAnno Nightwish etc 2002; Blind Guardian Bruce Dickinson Rose Tattoo etc 2003; Slayer Twisted Sister Stratovarius Gamma Ray etc 2004; Saxon Motorhead Dio Anthrax Doro etc 2005; Accept Nightwish Hammerfall ....Hanoi Rocks etc 2006; Whitesnake Motorhead Scorpions MSG Uli Jon Roth etc 2007; Blind Guardian Iced Earth, oh & Saxon Rose Tattoo & The Answer etc 2008; Iron Maiden Nightwish etc So whilkst I agree that Wacken is predominantly "Metal", it seems that those other wee buggers from Oz pop up quite a bit too, as do various other bands that look slightly out of place on the bill,(if you go for that labelling of musical genres type of thing!). Seems to me that Ive seen in various interviews, lots of the billed bands have all expressed a debt to AC/DC, as being one of their main influences. And given that "ROCK" fans tend to be the most accepting fans in the world,I personally cant see any reason that DC would not go down a storm at Wacken, they are after all, one of the LEGENDS of Rock n Roll,as are Sabbath,Purple,Zeppelin etc. BUT! For my ££££, I dont think they will play, last extended festival they done was Reading and that was a washout for the band,30+ years on with the success they have had and the stage props required for their shows, I dont see them cutting back just to play a headline slot at any festival, unless its something along the lines of Metallicas Knebworth gig this earlier this year, even then tho',AC/DC have always been a kinda "crash your town and party, then leave" kinda band, not the type of band who needs an Altamont or Ozzfest. Just my opinion for what its worth Peace out n be well Dave

I would be very surprised too if they were playing at a big Festival like reading, isle of wight, rock am ring or wacken...although this would be awesome! There should be a Festival with AC/DC and Metallica and some other good bands like in 90s.

LOL quit peddling those stupid rumors. Brain was clear enough the first time, never mind when he clarified himself. Anyway back on topic, a festival like Donnington (screw Download, it's Donnington) would be way kickass. Wacken or Rock Am Ring would be sweet but not much bigger than an open air show of their own so far as I can tell. Still, any change would be great.

It's rumoured every single year in Ireland but SLANE CASTLE would be a dream gig for me!!
