Need help with my computer
I have a computer that runs on Windows 7, and I have to reprogram it. But I have a problem, When I bought it they jast gave me 1 installation disk, instead of the 3 or 4 needed. It is a newer computer (got it in november). I am thinking about taking it to a local computer agency and they will install it for $250, or I could buy the set of disks for $150. What do you think I should do?
Why do you think you need 3-4 discs? More than likely that one DVD is a factory restoration disc.
The 1 DVD is only the instillation disk I got with it when I bought. I need the restoration disks, and I really dont want to shell out $300-$400 for them.
Generally, when you buy a computer these days, it's understood that you'll make the restoration discs yourself when you first turn the computer on. I'm not too clear what exactly you want to do, but any installation disc should be good enough to do it yourself; if it's a copy of Windows 7, then that's all you need.
Boy you guys from the other side of the Atlantic really don't have piracy on your minds. They scare you real good there... $300 for pc software?????!I can have all 2009 games and software for 300$...Sorry my mistake, i could have everything for nothing cuz i will not pay a dime on Micro$oft , the company that introduced the "beta testing" windows Vista... So how many years in prison you get for downloading Windows 7?
Actually I haven't paid for software in about 15 years, save for the occasional game. I just didn't want to advocate piracy on the board. Especially since I'm pretty sure he has a copy of Windows 7, that came with his computer.
Now that's a good fella! Actually i HAVE paid for some games that i thought they were deserving a buck for the programmers (Might & Magic, Sierra and Lucas Adventures, Icewind Dales(s), Baldur's gate etc) but i will NEVER EVER pay for Micro$oft. They were firing employees with email memos, the F&ckers!
I just got it back, and they sent recovery disks with it.
