Angus Young's input jack from 1977-78

So, a couple of roomates and I are having an tiff about the Rocker video from the Glasgow 1978 show. Before rocker is played, something is clearly seen hanging at Angus' side. One roommate says its the actual guitar cord that plugs into the wireless transmitter. Another says its an antenna for the wireless transmitter. However all of this maybe true, but the input jack is clearly left open which started the argument. So we looked for other shows and it clearly shows that he used a shit ton of duct tape around the area of the input jack. And we found that Angus has inputs in different places from different shows. And we are looking for PICTURE or VIDEO evidence of any show from said time period. Obviously a Black Ice tour video will not help us from a show on the Powerage tour. To prove Rocker's authenticity, whether good or bad. One roommate says why would they mime an entire show, Fling Thing included, its just not their style. Cant wait for the answers.

He used a wireless system alot. Because he used to sprint up and down the stage. A chord would have gotten in the way

Its the whole fact that the input seems to be unplugged from the guitar its self watch fling thing rocker carefully. Unless he modified his guitar to have 2 inputs or a different one while one remained virtually empty. My roomates and I don't doubt AC/DC in their career. But this show is only in dispute.

I'll tell you now there's no way sound could come out of a guitar with nothing plugged into it. The duct tape was probably used to protect the guitar itself and possibly hold cracks together. He started using a Schaffer-Vega wireless system in 1977.

He did, we don't doubt the schaffer-vega system and the shows, there is a tinge of doubt for that show. watch it and keep your eyes on the guitar, maybe brighten up the screens? I'd myself would like to see this debunked.

I just debunked this. At this time, the Schaffer Vega transmitter (X10) had been put inside the guitar, into the control cavity. This is the reason for the duct tape: a cable from the transmitter was coming out and was being plugged (in the Glasgow show) inside an additional booster (a treble booster). During the show, on Fling and Rocker, this jack is unplugged. But the guitar still transmits. My belief is that the Treble Booster could be bypassed by unplugging the Jack you see hanging. Naturally the show was played for real. More info here:http://www.solodallas.net/sweet-lord-ltbr-tone-debunked/ Thanks, SoloDallas

Flattered. Thank you :D :P Well, I bumped into this old post - sorry for reviving it from the dead - as I too am continuously looking for info on the Schaffer Vega/Cetec Vega. Hail AC/DC for life, yours always, Fil
