Iron Man 2 Soundtrack

Seeing as how none of the songs are new or unreleased, I set this up in my iTunes playlist and I gotta say, it rocks! What I can't get over is that, if you go by this soundtrack and the Maximum Overdrive soundtrack, you would think that AC/DC have a great deal of love for their back catalog and truly recognize how they can mix it up and keep it interesting to old die-hards and new fans alike, but if you go to their shows, it's as if they have this deep-seated fear and loathing for anything beyond the same 20 songs they play over and over again. If they actually played the Iron Man 2 soundtrack from front to back live, they would still cover a bunch of their requisite classics (BIB, HtH, StThrill, etc) but hit enough of the hidden treasures (Cold Hearted Man, RnR Damnation, IYWB, Evil Walks) that the show would be really mind-blowing. I'm getting some serious cognitive dissonance contemplating the utterly awesome, cool band I've encountered on Iron Man 2 and Who Made Who against the spontaneity-and-risk-free band that's been putting on the same live show for 20 years. I hope the two bands meet up sometime, merge into one and begin blowing the socks off of their fans once again...

Well the reason is that the soundtracks were created by movie directors who happen to be fans. If the band chose the songs, they'd be Greatest Hits for sure. So even when fans create albums for them with obscure songs they can't seem to take a hint.
