I think it's better if we all just curl into a ball in the fetal position. We've been told.

"F--- them!'' Johnson says. "What about the fans who haven't heard them? There are a few cocky fans. A lot of people now with the computers, they sit on their fat a---s in their house somewhere going 'Oh they played that song last night, they should change it'. Well, bollocks to you. I don't think they realise changing a song in a set now is not the same as it used to be." LMAO! I have a new found respect for Brian now. Long live AC/DC!

i think Brian misunderstood that letter, I also think he is talking about a petition so I am not sure that it is even the letter that he is talking about. Still, why is he blaming it on the lighting guy,,,,fuck the lighting guy. He should never say "fuck you" to die hard fans that have supported him since day one. He needs to apologize for that.

fair enough point from Brian, it is a logistical pain to change lighting set ups etc on a daily basis, but forgive me for thinking/expressing the following opinion ITS NOT JEAN MICHELLE JARRE WEVE COME TO SEE!! A LIGHT SHOW EQUIVALENT TO CLOSE ENCOUNTERS IS FINE AND DANDY FOR A BAND LIKE FLOYD,NOT A ROCK n ROLL BAND AS FOR THE PROPS, YOU ONLY EVER NEEDED TWO,ONE WAS A BELL THE OTHER WAS THE CANNONS THE REST IS SUPERFLUOUS VAUDEVILLIAN CRAP!!

Thank you GoZone. I read the letter, for me it means, that some fans are not very happy about the new setlist. I don't know what's the problem, i say, every gig from ac/dc is a honour to see, anyway what they will play. Love ac/dc forever. Cheers.

^some fans think they should play more variety. The play ZERO songs from arguably their best album, Powerage. Also, there are ZERO songs from the last two albums. I understand why they play the songs that they do but I also think they should have some variety once in a while, especially when playing the same area multiple times. I also think the whole stage show shit is getting out of control. I go to a concert to hear music not watch some lame lights flicker around. AC/DC needs two props, the bell, cannon and maybe Rosie for their show....those props and some basic lights and we are all set for a great show. As for all the other shit, who cares. The music is what matters.

I think we're overlooking an important part of this article... "Johnson says they're already talking about a follow-up to Black Ice that should lob while he's still in his 60s." A possible new album? I'd rather they focus their energy on new songs than practicing the old ones.

I couldn't agree more with what brian says. acdc respect there fans but they don't need our permission to come up with a setlist. there one of the greatest live bands on this earth does it really matter what songs they play? Not to me. May i remind you guys they played down payment blues, girls got rhythm, and dog eat dog during the ballbreaker tour. they played get it hot, up to my neck in you, problem child and ride on {only once} during the stiff upper lip tour. and in 03 they played gone shootin, rock n roll damnation, what's next to the moon and if you want blood. so during every tour they try to put songs in that haven't been played live that much. And they've changed the setlist at least 3 times during the black ice tour already! What more do they want? It's ACDC's Call Not Ours!

that's my opinion buddy take it or leave it. i get the point! i understand completely why the petition was made it's cause fans like yourself want to hear some songs that aren't always played. i get that. but like i said before an acdc show is an awesome experience. but come on! how many times do they need to change the setlist just to make the fans happy?

I cannot blame Brian, he is a puppet of Mal and Ang after all. Yes they should not change the setlist every night but after the second leg they had plenty of time to reorganize the lights, stage etc. And of course they are incapable of doing a setlist of their own. They just replay the same setlist for 10 years and they are just removing the good-surprise parts. And fuck you too and play something from Powerage morons!

i dont blame brian either........some of these band forums get old after a while......most of the people on this website just bitch and moan just because the band doesnt change the set list or they release a boxset with stuff that's traded already as bootlegs. SO FUCKING WHAT!!! i am so sick and tired of all of these so called "fans" who just whine about everything the band does!

Just to clarify. No one was whining before the tour (well just RnrDamnation).I really wish i could hear Malcolm tell us to fuck off.I'll be sure then that Sony made them retard fuckin sellouts. We, the so called fans that happen to have 300 AC/DC cd's or 1000 Lp's or sell out everything to buy an AY signature SG. Ha, i wish everyone could introduce himself so we could see who is blaming who. Anyway once more, FUCK OFF AND PLAY SOMETHING FROM POWERAGE YOU MORONS!NOBODY GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOUR SELLOUT BOXESTS AND IRON FAG 2.OR RETIRE.

Just found out today that'll be seeing them in April for my birthday at the MGM Grand in my favorite city...Las Vegas. The only song I'll be looking for added to the set list will be Sin City.

I am so mad right now. The unbelievable disrespect of Brian (a guy who always came off as unbelievably nice) is just shocking. Brian, nobody said to change the songs every night, we're asking that in two years of touring you change more than 3 songs. Is that so much? I've seriously lost so much respect for AC/DC in the past two years it's fucking disgusting. Any band that can say "Fuck You" to it's hardcore fans does not deserve our money. Hey Nate, here's a headline for the news section "AC/DC says 'Fuck you hardcore fans!'" I don't care if they do a show in the middle of my godamn street, I ain't ever gonna see them again unless they seriously change their attitude.

brian had every right, its there choise, it works for them, and freakin 98% of everyone that goes to there show, whos beter acdc or GNR? Metalica? (think i misspeled it) Led zepplen (think i misspeled it) AC/DC is the best of those acts!!! the train, the bell, the cannons, rosie, angus, mal, cliff, phill, and brian playing KICKASS SONGS!!! accept it they do change the set every tour; during stiff upper lip they played WHATS NEXT TO THE MOON, GET IT HOT, and IF YOU WHANT BLOOD, during black ice they dont experiment that much but they added the black ice songs, RNR TRAIN, BIG JACK, ANYTHING GOES (even though it was scratched off due to playing difficulties) BLACK ICE, they played DOG EAT DOG too, then switched for HIGH VOLTAGE, seriously just leave them allone, if you dont like the live show, just stick to the CD's. ROCK ON.

@esau31: Dude. You don't get it. Changing up the setlist isn't that difficult; every band does it. Sure, the band experimented a little on the SUL tour, but in the long run, they only played maybe six songs that weren't the norm. Let's put this into perspective. The band Kiss played over forty different tracks on their latest tour alone. If they can do it, why can't AC/DC? Oh, and I hate to say it, but Led Zeppelin was better. The Beatles and Zeppelin are the two greatest bands of all time. Personally I think that's a concrete fact. AC/DC may be my favourite group, but at least as a hardcore fan I can admit they aren't perfect.

Maybe saying Zeppelin was better wasn't exactly the right choice of words. I know it won't go over well here. Let's just say that The Beatles and Led Zeppelin are both legendary bands that can't be topped by anyone. That sounds better.

re the setlist changes, saw Springsteen last year for about the 5th time, now its rattling about in my head that i saw it somewhere that he played in excess of 180 songs during his last world tour! But I guess when you have no props and just a stage some lights, video screens and a kick ass rock band behind you, it gives you the opportunity to chop and change given the circumstances on any given night!! Now I know he may not be everyones cup of tea,but the first time I saw him was back in 81, no support and a 3 3/4 hr show, last year no support and a 3+hr show which didnt have any 20 minute remixs of album title tracks!, now bear in mind if you have seen any Bruce at all, live or tv, the gig always includes a fan request section whereby the band are put on the spot to play anything! So for the 85 personnel being put out by 1 song being changed in the set FUCK OFF AND GROW A SET BRIAN the setlist is what Malcolm says it is, end of. Stop trying to deflect it onto the hired hands. As for me, im a fan of music, good music, ask anyone they will all tell you I love my AC/DC, but for me last years AC/DC gig(hotly anticipated after 8yrs), was blown away by the EVENT that was Bruce Springsteen. Sorry if ya dont agree but there ya go, as i said before I love my DC, always will, just not too fond of AC/DC Inc. lighting problems!! MY ARSE!!

Most of you guys might want to change your panties, you people sound like a bunch of scorned harpie bitches. AC/DC are a band and a business, get that through your heads and you won't lose any sleep over big bad Brian calling you so-called "hardcore" fans names. Boo-Hoo...Wawa...How would you like someone coming into your place of work that hasn't walked in your shoes and start telling you how to do your freakin' job? Another thing you clowns don't get is this is their bread and butter. It makes perfect sense to get their music over to newer and younger fans so that the royality checks keep coming in. Same goes with Backtracks, it's completly stupid to think they shouldn't release their b-sides on CD format just because a select few of you are happy with crappy ripped vinyl copies or even crappier mp3 downloads from ripped vinyls. If I was in AC/DC, I'd say fuck you to you people also, and then come into your place of work and steal shit from you and see how that affects your bottom line. This site used to be enjoyable, now it's turning into bitchfest central for a bunch of losers with no lives that spend all their waking moments crying about how Malcolm, Brian and Angus slighted them like a spurned lover. Why listen to AC/DC in the first place then? Their obviously too much of real men for most of you jackasses to handle. To quote Angus: "We're the biggest capitalists of all". To quote Brian: "Fuck off". If I get banned for this rant...It was well worth it. Most of you people are godamn pathetic. Grow up, grow a set of balls and wear a helmet. ;-)

LOL at Dirty Deeds. He just can't wait for AC/DC to grab his money and fuck him in the ass. What you seem to be forgetting is that we paid for the Rolls Royce he just bought, so if we want to hear something other than YSMANL and Highway To Hell, we can dam well request it. And of him to say fuck you to us for asking is unbelievably ignorant. We're not telling him how to do his job, if you read the fuckin petition, you'd know we suggested politely that he change it up a little like he did for the last 20 years and were met with a response of "fuck you". I don't think AC/DC has to worry about their bottom line either. Besides, we wouldn't have complained if Backtracks wasn't pawned off as the definitive rarities boxset. That shit ain't rare and you know it. Here are some words of advice Dirty Deeds... if you let them rip you off with shit like Iron Man and Backtracks, get ready for worse. And don't expect them to become anything more than a rolling jukebox in the future. esau is another idiot. "accept it they do change the set every tour" ... more like they DID. daclarob knows what's up. I totally agree. Brian is full of shit and if Bon was a live he would be ashamed of Brian right now. This is NOT how you treat your diehard fans.

I'm so confused by the complainers. If you don't like the stuff they are releasing, do not buy it. They are not holding anyone down and forcing them to buy these things. I think many people are taking these "issues" too seriously, especially with the setlist. They're a band, not a personal music machine.

well im suitably corrected now I was silly to think musi was an art form, when in reality its a business, ah well you live n learn. Spose dd&mt is right they have to protect the royalties, even tho bands make money from touring and not generally record sales, but see im confused there because from what ive seen In 2009 the Recording Industry Association of America upgraded the group's US sales figures from 69 million to 71 million, making AC/DC the fifth-best-selling band in US history and the ninth-best-selling artist So apart from the fact you can buy more official merchandise from AC/DC than IKEA stock, EXACTLY how much money do they need?

The fact is that (i'll say it again), NOONE was complaining bout the setlist(Except RnRdamnat) and what? They made a letter and POLITELY requested to change 2-3 songs(or just add them and do another 10minutes show) and they get FUCK YOU? Those assholes that bushing us for the right to request 2-3 songs they should better know that we are more hardcore fans than them. That's right. You see people here that followed DC since 197s and they are complaining.Honestly i believe it's cowardness the least to stand in the corner with the band fucking you and say "Thank you sir can i have another". I won't stand it and so i won't buy anything from them at first. If you did the same then they (Sony to tell things how they are) would be forced to play even Love song. That's right you no brain losers. If you gave them a sign (with not buying everything they sell) then believe me Brian would have 2nd 3rd and 4rth thoughts before tell us to Fuck off.But since they can sell these stuff to the retarded fans then they don't give a fuck. The money talks and that's it. Also stop calling names.I didn't say anything for some of you here that are calling us names for days but you made me. So buy the shit they feed you with and be happy with a little ignorant smile, morons.I ignore the stuff they do and there is no way on earth i'm going to Paris with this setlist. Also because i do have better things to do eventually, i won't be participating in threads and try to make sense to people.Ok you are morons we get it.If you want to be fucked in the ass be my guest. That's it for me i'll just criticize what they do... Also you ignorant fucks remember who were here that told you the setlist changes and the second and 3rd tour legs and before the album, when we were expecting it etc etc.So have a little respect to people that are here for years and they never said anything bad about the band.If you see those people react then something is wrong. We are not just of a sudden became AC/DC bushers. Peace.

Changing the setlist between tours isn't that great, for fans like me, sho only started listeing to them a couple of years before BI. I still think they could change at least 2 songs between legs as they have a break inbtween to sort lights and etc if thats such a problem

I think Sap hit a good point there; we've been loyal fans for years, with very few gripes. Something is clearly wrong when we get fed up with the band so much as to start our own personal embargo on their crap. Yeah, we get that all you new fans haven't seen them a million times, but you have to respect that we're very serious when it comes to AC/DC and we're not going to tolerate them selling out to any extent. This is the band we've loved for years and if they make some dumb moves, we aren't going to sit by and say "at least they're still playing!".
