There is no need for them to play Runaway Train. They have about 150 songs which are better than that one...

Thunderstruck and Hells Bells are both standard songs played in just about all 31 NFL stadiums. I wouldn't want to see them play the Super Bowl to be honest, I don't like these medley's that all the bands that play the Super Bowl do instead of playing full songs.

Go RNRDamnation! Well first of all I doubt they would do the Superbowl if it was so hard to get them to do a festival (Donnington), but on the other hand, if they were offered enough money they might because of this new attitude of theirs. Realistically, if they did it, they'd start with RNR train, but here's how it would go down if I had my way: Everything's pitch black and you hear the ts-ts-ts-ts of Phil starting Thunderstruck, then Angus kicks in with the intro riff with only one spotlight beneath him shining straight up. Then, the stage lights up more as the rest of the band comes in. Once they reach the end of the first verse, Brian sings, "The thunder of guns, tore me apart. You've been... Back in Black, I hit the sack, it's been to long I'm glad to be back..." and they continue to pay BIB with Brian singing "I'm back", not "We're back" as he has for this tour. Then they go on to play YSMANL, Highway to Hell, and close with Let Me Put My Love Into You. Now that would be a sweet show.

I think you must start watching-playing football or soccer as you call it. Superbowl and medleys and stuff. Is this the one that someone grabs the ball and starts running and everyone chasing him? What's is called?

Actually, it's perfectly logical for both AC/DC and the NFL to have the band play the superbowl. After the boys have circled the globe about 3 times during the Black Ice tour and played to bigger and bigger stadiums, what is there left for them to do? And after The Stones, Springsteen, The Who and U2 have played the Superbowl, who of that stature is left? Led Zeppelin won't be reforming anytime soon and neither will Pink Floyd, so we're left with AC/DC. And what better way to cap off the Black Ice tour and say farewell to their fans around the world for the very last time than to play the lame single off their new album (Runaway Train) and a few tired hits, but play them really, really well? Besides, even Brian himself has basically admitted to AC/DC being more about the spectacle than the music when he went on his tirade against the fans who would rather hear more music than see more lights...

I like daclarob's statement. Sums up the whole deal with AC/DC in a nutshell.

What they don't realize is that if they don't stop, their after fame will get black spots. Till 2008 they were the band that did not sold out and played for it's fans. After that they are f#cking with their fame for a few more millions that they don't really need. Or it's the other way around? They think "let's just grab some more cash and screw the fans.History will not remember our retirement sell out in 20-30 years from now" Well be careful i say, history is cruel. So enough for that. What the hell is the Superbowl and why don't you US guys like football, which is the most popular sport on the planet.

@sapator When you say "football", do you mean soccer or American football? On another note, I wouldn't call what AC/DC is doing selling out. If you want a perfect example of "selling out", look no further than Metallica say from the Load album to the St. Anger album. Last time I checked AC/DC hasn't strayed from the music that brought them to the dance.

Soccer as you say it.Most popular sport on the planet. Selling out goes in a lot of directions. Like screwing the fans with 3pl albums, boxsets and movie dvds. Of course if they started to play metal or something else most of you that don't accuse them you would say that they are trying a different "approach" and we shouldn't bash them. Believe me i was there when Metallicash sold out and half the people said exactly what i'm saying above.Of course Metallica$$(Lars) where stupid enough to go against the mp3-download-bootleg movement and there they got their a$$ kicked by everyone. No AC/DC are currently f#cking us carefully.I can admit that they know the market tricks better than Metallica$$. P.S. After Metallica$$ show that even their loyal fans are bashing them they: 1)Declared that eveyone can download anything from them if they want. It's in peoples good faith to buy from them. 2)They tried to play something more to their roots 3)They did the whole Master of Puppets album live and they play surprise songs. Anyway something like that,i'm not Metallic expert. What i'm saying is that if some band find out they are loosing money and fans then it opens up it's ass and do what the fans like.So that's why i'm saying don't buy there sell out stuff etc.Do you listen?I don't think so, i'm sure there would be lots n lots of m#rons that will buy Iron Man DVD. Some people tend to think more, some people are puppets and can't-don't want to think more. And it's good that some people are idiots you know. They fill Madonna stadiums or buy the exact same songs they have on a different cd,again. If there weren't idiot people then the whole market would have gone bankrupt,so it's good and healthy. P.S.2 I'm not talking about you,ok?But everyone that will buy the Iron Fag album is a complete 100% moron.Plain and simple.

@sapator I've said before that I have no intention of buying the Iron Man 2 soundtrack because I have all the tracks already on the remasters. However, what about kids that have never heard AC/DC and are going to see the movie because of Iron Man itself? Is it a bad thing to introduce these kids to their music especially when most Hard Rock / Heavy Metal that comes out today is complete garbage? Plus, what's wrong with doing a movie soundtrack? I write myself, and more than 90% of the time I write while listening to AC/DC which influences what I write. So let's say if I ever sold something as a script, and wanted AC/DC to do the music for the film, is that selling out because I want one of my two favorite bands to do the music? On another note, soccer...not for me, much prefer American football. I do like though how soccer fans flip out and burn down stadiums, kick the crap out of people and shoot their goalies when they kick the ball in the wrong goal. Good times.

They said that they were never gonna do a soundtrack. What you say although good for you that you listen to DC when write, is irrelevant. Also in Iron Man 1 Back in Black is played.Should be sufficient. Ye right like they don't know AC/DC and will find them in the movie. You could say that 10 years ago.Today it was the Greek final of the X-Factor show and in the background DDDDC was playing(with Bon).Let's hope that's not a sign they will do the X-Factor soundtrack! About football...I know USAans do not like the only sport game that is worth watching but you're missing out.I could never understand the fun watching a man running with a ball in it's hands and the others running after him.At least in rugby they are kicking etc others arses for good.No protection n stuff. Also since we are on the demolishing side, let me bash baseball also(:P).A sport that you wear trousers and belt is not a sport. At least NBA is a sport. .... what were we talking about?...Ah.Anyway let me summarize. 1)Baseball is not a sport 2)Superbowl is crap 3)AC/DC have sold out. :P :) P.S. At least i'm not taking DC seriously anymore.I have accepted the fact that they want money to end their career. Thanks for what you have do for me in the past but baby, you can go f#ck yourselves now.

OK Sap, so AC/DC I guess can only not sell out by playing in clubs in front of 50 people and remaining a niche thing among a select few. Right, and that's going to pay the bills and give you the freedom to be your own boss. Now I know exactly why Brian told people criticizing them to go fuck themselves. Anyway, baseball does suck and so does the NBA. American Football was much better between the 1970's and early 1990's than what it is today. Today it's too watered down due to all the politically correct horseshit that has creep into American society. Soccer...eh...pretty boring also if you ask me, except for the things I mentioned in my other post. Yet then again, the NFL has there share of crazies also; like the Cleveland Browns fans.

So that's what vibes you get from the complaining fans all this time? :( So me saying bout backtracks and same setlist and 3-4 different version albums means to play in front of 50 people?! Having seen them in closed stadium(Milan) and open ones, i have to say that i prefer the open gigs much better with more people. Ok in closed ones you feel them very close and you think you can talk to them during the brakes but in open ones (and specially before the "i'm a robot" tour) it's all Hell breaks loose. I'm also amazed, seeing you set foot on very old gigs, that you are settled with this setlist.Of course i cannot change your mind and nor you can change mine but you're insulting my intelligence(whatever i may have ;P ) saying that i want them to play in front of 50 people..This would be the absolute downfall for them (In Greek: Katantia). To sports.I was a big fan a couple of years ago but now i don't really care.I'm teasing you but i still believe Football or soccer as you say it is the best sport in the planet. Ah, also in NBA i used to support Utah Jazz (when they played with Bulls i hated Jordan when he stole the ball from Malone) and recently i saw a movie with Dan Aykroyd that supposedly Jazz won the championship!!! :P

just a wee thought re the "playin in clubs.." post, dont think even doin this for 10 yrs would EXACTLY break the bank of the multi millionaires that are AC/DC, I mean lets face it, theyre not exactly strapped for cash now are they?,and I seriously doubt if they ever need to worry about their bills or being their own bosses ever again. Just a wee observation from someone who has to toss up whether to spend £100 on a gig, or spend £100 on bills and suchlike!!!
