This Week In AC/DC...WTF!?
Taken Straight from the band's "Official" site, Quote, "02.26.2010 The Week in AC/DC This week, the band played two more shows in Sydney and continued their trek across Australia with last night's show in Brisbane, the first of two shows there. The final results from Sydney: in addition to their breaking ticket sale records for the Australian leg of the Black Ice Tour, the three Sydney shows broke U2's attendance record for ANZ Stadium. The shows aren't the only place in Australia that AC/DC fans have showed up in full force. According to Pollstar, 150,000 fans visited the "AC/DC Australia's Family Jewels" exhibit, which closes up at the end of the month. Were you one of the many who visited the exhibit? If so, what were your favorite parts? Let us know over in the forums. The Courier Mail already has a photo gallery and review up from last night's show. In addition, there have been reports that you could hear the show all the way out in Coorparoo (a suburb of Brisbane), so The Mail has started a map detailing how far away folks could hear the show from. To those around Brisbane who might not have enjoyed a free AC/DC concert, we remind you that rock n' roll ain't no noise pollution. Fan club member gerrycan70 was at the show and came home with a bunch of great pics from the show. You can check out all of his photos here. This week also marked a few anniversaries for AC/DC: - Back on February 23, 1976, the band shot their first music video for "It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)" whilst riding around Melbourne on the back of a flatbed truck. - Yesterday marked the tenth anniversary of Stiff Upper Lip's release. - Today back in 1977, National Rockstar penned a review of an AC/DC show at Edinburgh University in which they had this to say about Angus: "He's 17, if he's still playing when he reaches 25, that might be something truly amazing to dig." Little did they know! We definitely dig. To take a look at all AC/DC's historical moments, head over to the "On This Day" section of the site. And that's all for this week...Til next week!" End Mother Fu#king Qoute, So.....Where's the "Exciting" Announcement that we waited another whole freakin' week for? Where's Let There Be Rock:The Movie On DVD? Not found on that site, that's for sure. *Sighs* Their site is ran by an ignorant retard.... This better be a Really,Really,REALLY good announcement or I'm not using that site ever again. Geez, waited all day for nothin' (what a surprise, lol) -Peace
Yeah, maybe tomorrow we'll get something...(not getting hopes up) Really, though it's a load B.S. "We'll have to wait til' next week for the "exciting" news" Horse Sh#t!! I call foul!!!
I wouldn't expect it tomorrow... probably next week ;)
I wish they had a comment feature on their news articles...
I was a member of the "fan club" and used the site for a year and I have never used a more disorganised website/fanclub in my life its s&*^ They just have to write one sentence "we will be realease let there be rock on dvd but more details to follow" Thats all they have to write instead they just start ignoring it
Now when backtracks was released they had a special countdown site why is it so hard and if they are building up to an release why are they doing this, I wish they could release both Let there be rock DVD and the B.A. DVD at the same time, that would be awesome, but what there doing now is just ridiculous! Who knows what the hell there doing!
Who cares, we all know already that it's going to be LTBR: The Movie. Is them confirming the obvious really that important?
Well I think one or wo months(ölike they id for backtracks) for the original release date. Or does anyone do know here the final release date? Probably not. So please take the patient to wait till its final release date. And well I never used any AC/DC site to get my infos. They are rather obvious du,b imho
I got pretty annoyed by this. Stupid site...
I consider myself a diehard fan of this institution that is AC/DC since 1979 and must say this... The "Official Site" really caters to the casual fan and not to the world-following desciples like the rest who use sites like this one. I too was sucked into joining the fanclub when it was first launched and after searching for a possible 2 shows that I wanted to see, was denied buying stubs through them because I supposedly already maxed my purchases. I didn't even get to buy any from them only because I searched multiple shows. That was my first clue something was up. I waited for over 10 months from joining to get my "Fan pack" a load of useless trinkets that I gave to the garbage man. That site is not one that I use at all anymore because it is just plain annoying and the true fans know what is going on in the AC'DC camp weeks before it would be published on that site. So I guess what I'm saying is... if you think it is run by a retard, don't use the site. There are better run fan pages that eclipse the Official site anyway.
@Ammojoe08 That's very true, many fan pages are much better, organized and easier to use. That's why I'm here, Nate should be running AC/DC.com...he's doing a fine job with this site.
Official band sites usually suck 99% of the time.
Anybody else wondering WTF Patrick Ronacher is talking about?
@suicidehummer Nope! lol I haven't the slightest idea
