read and think
i laugh, when i read, about CERTAIN peoples reaction about AC/DC's live show. "THEY PLAY THE SAME THING!" no they play the basic MUST PLAY songs add on the new album songs and throw a few sprinkles, and boom, you got a show worth FREAKIN 100 BUCKS! they play; "Rock 'N Roll Train" "Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be" "Back in Black" "Big Jack" "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" "Shot Down in Flames" 1 "Thunderstruck" "Black Ice" "The Jack" "Hells Bells" "Shoot to Thrill" 2 "War Machine" "Dog Eat Dog" 3 (taken off to play High Voltage) "High Voltage" 4 "Anything Goes" 5 (taken off do to playing difficultys) "You Shook Me All Night Long" "T.N.T." "Whole Lotta Rosie" "Let There Be Rock" "Highway to Hell" "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)" 1 = Played on all dates from February 20, 2009. 2 = Played on all dates from October 30, 2008. 3 = Played on all dates from May 13, 2009 until December 6, 2009. 4 = Played on all dates from January 28, 2010. 5 = Omitted on all dates from October 25, 2009. if you were to see the set list from SUL there would be GET IT HOT, IF YOU WHANT BLOOD, HARD AS A ROCK, ROCK AND ROLL AINT NOISE POLLUTION, SIN CITY, and BAD BOY BOOGIE. now like it or not it would be hard to change the set list simply for who is hired to help. and personally NEXT TOUR the set list will be diferent, theyl play the new album traks and a few new sprinkles. im not trying to change you mind just cause i know how hard- headed some people are, but like some one said in the BEYOND THE THUNDER trailer; "if you dont like AC/DC you probably shouldnt be playing music" AC/DC is the VETERANS nor posers not machines not haters, there people who wright freakin awsome music and know how to have fun in a show. And i think brian johnson had every right to react the way he did about that letter, AC/DC is a BIG part of his life, MOST OF IT, and to be told that what some one thinks would be a good move would PISS ME OFF. he reacted lightly. i havent even seen AC/DC live untill APRIL 9. and i know ima get my AC/DC belt buckle, AC/DC shirt, AND bandana and come out of the concert with my girl holdin my hand, a freakin big hikey and nothing in my poket cause i spent it all on AC/DC stuff from a shop. ITS the best live show on earth like it or not. say what you want but i know more than half the people agree with me. hard core AC/DC fan thats what i am. i hope you are too....
I think people need to remember that not everyone who goes to concerts is hardcore of that particular band. I would have been disappointed if they didn't play these songs at the show(s) I or anyone else went to. People go to AC/DC because they know these songs. It's the music they were brought up on. They are not going to add songs to a set list simply because it's a 'fan favorite'. People just need to get over it. AC/DC like to play these songs. People like to hear these songs. It is how it is.
As i've said in another post. There is 2 ways you can go. Either accept what they are doing, or f#ck em. I choose the second. The real AC/DC are from 1973-74 till 2007. The new one are blood thirsty money old vampires that can only play the songs that Sony wants them to play.Because of what you've said.People will recognize them and go to their concert. See, Dog Eat Dog was my favorite but it was an underdog and they flushed it just like that! It was not "economically viable". They play for the casual "i like them but i don't know what "overdose" that you are telling me,is..Is it a bird?" fan. They pack stadiums with the casual fans. And they got their money from rip off boxsets, for the casual fan. Man i fkn hated many metal bands that did this and i used to think that AC/DC will never do that. They have true hardcore fans and they live for them too. But they did it.So look at me go,now! F#ck em. The new logo is AC$DC. I'll tattoo it on my butt!
And of course the setlist is the least of our concerns. It all started with the multicolor album versions of black ice. Sony on the long run knows how to f#ck everything and everyone so she can make money. And of course lots and lots of people are either young,or ignorant,or plain idiots and they don't care.As long as AC/DC exist. Well i got news for you.AC/DC are actually dead since 2003. This is some aftershocks that we are experiencing. Was a good ride but we have to step down now.Leave with your illusions.I'll remember the for they past.
ok, sap. You have been on the forums since I can remember so you have obviously been a fan longer than I have. First though, They didn't flush dog eat dog from the set list, it was replaced by High Voltage as a nod to their Australian roots and let me tell you, no other AC/DC song apart from It's a long way gets as much air time down here. Secondly, you do know you have a choice? You don't have to buy their releases every time they release something. I have never bought Backtracks because apart from the videos, there is nothing I don't think I didn't have before. But it is each to their own. All I'm saying is it's probably not AC/DC the band who decide even half the stuff that gets released. It would be Sony or whoever is looking after them now. It's just like the Iron Man thing, I won't buy it. I don't care. But I will still love this band and their music and if they do decide to come back to Australia or wherever I and they may be. I will surely see them again.
I make it short! I LOVE my wife I LOVE my childs I LOVE AC/DC Whatever they'll do!!! Cheers
LOL at esau, he's an idiot and I won't get into why because I don't have all day to respond. Here's my feelings on the subject: If I were to go see Iron Maiden (who I am a casual fan of), of course I would want to hear the hits but I'm not going to be greedy and say they should only play the hits. I like their more recent albums very much, so I would like to hear some from those as well. And I wouldn't complain if they pulled out something obscure at this imaginary show, because I'm sure the hardcore fans would love it. To sum it up, I'll just say that the setlist varied WAY more on every previous tour so to believe Brian's BS excuse is nothing more than ignorant and dumb.
rhece6 thanks. Your an ok person as far as can remember. They flushed DED clear and simple. Why didn't the leave it on and also do HV?No excuse. They flushed the underdog.Do you ever think that they could flush Thunder or TNT? As for buying stuff.I'm away ahead of you. I won't buy anything new from them. I could only make an exception for a DVD of the best live show ever.... Btw what happened to LTBR live? All you smart a$$ people that you knew it was coming,no doubt at all etc? Listen if you don't have the facts don't be so sure to present their next move. You can trust maybe 2-3 people here that they only have solid facts. I didn't have any info at LTBR, i did not talk, saying that, yeah, it's coming.Everyone was a frikin prophet here so now KISS MY A$$!!! And once again, i don't know if LTBR will ever come out but if not, then Sony people are really brain dead.
lol, like i said HARD HEADED. the real AC/DC is 1973-the rest of eternity.
OH and "suicidehummer" this "idiot" has a 3.9 GPA, plays in the Highschool baseball team, and has a HOT ASS GIRLFRIEND. (who like me is a HARDCORE AC/DC fan, i dont give a S**T what you say) keep coments like that to your self.
They can drop Big Jack if they wanted to, but they obviously don't want to. All I care is that Anything Goes is gone, and that April 9th will be the first show of this part of the tour, they might shock all of us... but I'm leaning towards the fact they won't... They have their reasons, whatever they are WHO GIVES A F*CK, enjoy it for what it is, because this in all likelihood is it. As far as the official releases go, I agree with Sapator, they've turned to greed, and for that reason alone the band means less to me than it used to... That being said I know the two previous shows I went to I was glad to attend... This show is a page turner, a celebration of past and present for me... After the show is done and I'm sitting in McCurran Airport to come home, I'll raise a glass to the sky in salute to what was the greatest rock and roll band of all time. At least I have bootlegs of greater times, when I would have loved to have seen em (ah to be twenty five years older) because I believe they ain't cutting the mustard no more... Rock and Roll ain't Noise Pollution, Rock In Peace, because I'm off the Highway To Hell
i love bein the token old fart here,I really do, it breaks up the monotony of an otherwise productive life! Suffice to say boys n girls, what one may describe as moneygrabbing shit, another may regard as manna from heaven, or to put it anoother way, IT WOULD BE A BORIN FECKIN WORLD IF WE ALL LIKED THE SAME THING!!! sO ON THAT HAPPY NOTE MAY WE ALL TAKE A MINUTE TO REREAD THE OPENING STATEMENT FROM NATE ON THE HOMEPAGE, I PERSONALLY LIKE THE LAST LINE "to increase everyone's knowledge of the band, and to recruit new fans so we all may enjoy the music. " So peoples, on that note, just for one minute can you just remember, the old guys useta get beat up for liking DC(In the UK at least in the 70s&80s),after 20+ years they are entitled to vent their frustrations at the current state of affairs, the younger guys are entitled to express their "excitement"if you like at the current state ofthe band, after all we were all there once. BUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FOR FUCKS SAKE WHY ARE WE FIGHTING AMONGST EACH OTHER OVER FECKIN SETLISTS? jESUS H CHRIST, NO WONDER PEOPLE USETA LOOK AT ROCKERS AS DUMB ARSEHOLES, A SELF FULFILLING PROPHESY IF EVER THERE WAS ONE, IT WOULD SEEM. AND A FINAL THOUGHT, WHY ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER/WILL NEVER MEET, INSULTING EACH OTHER VIA THE INTERNET? GROW THE FUCK UP!! APOLOGIES TO NATE FOR THE PROFANITY,BUT JESUS, SOMETIMES THIS FORUM RESEMBLES A NURSERY CLASS,GET MORE SENSE OUTTA MY 3 YR OLD PEACE DAVE
I agree Dave. Anyway i personally does not "fight" for the setlist. I'm disappointed of the new "attitude" i see from them. Get as more money we can, fuck the fans.Because let's face it, allowing to release what they release is a pure rape in the wallet. If they didn't do what they are doing and only played the same setlist then i would not have talked, at least that much. You can refer to the "fight" with RnRdamnation because he wanted different songs on the show...I was against different song ;) Anyway i don't wanna fight anyone (although esau31's talk about playing on a baseball team was tickling me for a comment), i'm not mad at anyone.I'm expressing my opinion without really caring for the mummified band no more. Some agree some not. Dave, i used to beat up people for NOT liking AC/DC but nowadays AC/DC fans are to mellow(ok not all) so i might as well beat a madonna fan :P
Sap my old friend, I agree wholeheartedly and my comments were in no way diected at you,I think I see your point,in fact I know I do,my nursery comments were directed at no-one in particular, but if those that start personal attacks want to take offnce, then so be it. I somehow think having survived the late 70s early 80s when Britain was divided by musical gangs, i.e. Punks,Skins and Rockers etc,and you wee at risk of a kicking everytime you left the house because of your musical taste,I can survive a flaming on a website forum, but at the end of the day,I know how I feel and if that makes me "pig-headed " or staid and stuck in the past, well so be it,im in good company I think. Anyhow, young sir, be well and be good to yerself! And in the interest of saving the planet and the Green cause,as the great Scottish philosopher and poet,Harvey* would say........ "remember, don't pish in the drinking water!" *Alex Harvey as in SAHB Peace Dave
I know you were not referring to me Dave. :) I've read about the 70's 80's in UK, i know there were ruff times. But since AC/DC were considered a punk-pop-rock band, you could probably get by without a fight :P I grew up when here listening to rock-metal were satanic and for "bad people living in allays".Now metal is popular and many schoolgirls (like esau31 girlfriend) are listening to it. So if any stupid f#ck (no offense to anybody) can listen to it then more victims for money grabbing the suckers. Finally AC/DC got the point.About time to con the suckers.Good for them but i won't be one.
esau: My bad... I didn't realize you had a hot girlfriend. And of course everybody on a highschool baseball team must be an AC/DC expert...
