BIGNATE PLEASE READ Disproving the challenging setlist for 1985 worcester
As we all know, or most of us, the recording of from the centrum in 1985 has surfaced, and conflicted setlists have appeared. To the best of my ability, I have compiled a lsit of reasons WHY the setlist with have a drink on me is correct. 1. For Those About To Rock was only played in 1991 when AC/DC preforms at the centrum. It was not preformaed in 1986, or 1983, or 1988. It is absolutely not palyed because Brian says good night after T.N.T. 2. have a drink on me fits better in the setlist. The shows that played have a drink on me were all bunched. The odds of another song being added are very slim. 3. There are no audio cuts in the recording (that take place outside of songs). The no cuts shows that we are not missing a track. I hope this is taken into consideration.
I read it and I have no problem stating my case. I'm not trying to discredit you or anyone, but there are a few things that stand out, in my opinion. I do not have the recording so I can not speak for it (if I remember correctly, I never got back to you regarding a trade so it's my own fault). Here's my point of view. - Most recordings that have not been circulated normally show up in lossless format first, then get converted to lossy. From my experience, if it shows up lossy first then it has been around a while and should have been circulated often. - Bootlegs can be mislabeled. I've proven this myself by posting a mislabeled BOTM a few times. Unless you have a definite source & lineage, then there is a chance it could have been mislabeled somewhere along they line. - Arnaud Durieux states in 'Maximum Rock n Roll' that Danger was played that night, so I tend side with his opinion on things. When I'm unsure of something, I ask him & value his opinion. (I've asked him about the locations of the songs on the Live album and he made some interesting points). - Member Boothjorden attended a few concerts (including the one in question) back then and believes it was played. Not exactly a confirmation, I know. I realize that my reasons for believing it was played live aren't the greatest, but that's what I base my thoughts on.
Ok, got it off of Black Ice Bootlegs & will listen to it once I get the chance. Reading over troublemaker's notes, it does make sense & disproves most of my theories. I'll take a listen & post my thoughts after.
Fair enough. I am happy you are considering my case. Brian does say worcester after fly on the wall, which proves venue, and I have already come in contact with boothjorden and he says he could have been wrong.
Somewhere around the time i still think Danger could have been played....look at first blood..there's only 1 recording but there's like a couple shows after that which don't have anything (audio, pictures, stubs) so for all we know it could have stayed in for a few nights. It seems that they were experimenting with the set list alot at the beginning of the FOTW tour. I dont know prove me if im wrong....same case with Given The Dog a bone early in the back in black tour.
ooops im wrong about first blood....but theres two nights before with nothing and i think it was probably played.
I think LiveWire101 makes a good point with his First Blood 1 recording available only from the 9/4/85 Binghamton, New York show example. Look at Playing With Girls as well as another example. Danger probably was played but unfortunately no bootlegs are available with that track. I know a lot of people dislike that song immensely but I am actually a fan of that track since it came out.
I went to the gigs on Sept. 6, 7 and 8 that year and I remember that Danger WAS played at one of those 3 gigs. I thought in Sept. 6 gig in Worcester was the time that Danger was played because for some reason that date stood out to me the most but as I have probably said before I could be wrong. All I know for sure is that it was played at one of those 3 gigs.
We have a video from the spectrum, so it wasn't the 7th. It HAS to be the 8th. Danger would replace sin city in the setlist the night it was played. It must have been played on the 8th.
