MY BAND IS OPENING FOR AC/DC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check out The Broken Spurs louisville KY. We are featured in local papers The Courier Journal and The Velocity. I'm BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When AC/DC announced last year it was coming to Louisville, Benny Clark and Adam Kramer bought tickets the minute they went on sale. No way were they missing a band they'd spent a lifetime worshipping, not to mention one that had deeply inspired their own band, the Broken Spurs. And then the show was canceled due to illness, leaving the friends profoundly bummed. When a new date was finally revealed last month, it came with a surreal twist. The Broken Spurs were going to open. For AC/DC. In Freedom Hall. Weeks after getting the news about Tuesday's show, the band is still buzzing. “Brother, it's a miracle, a dream come true,” said Kramer, who co-founded Broken Spurs with Clark. “It's still hard to believe. It makes every day a million times brighter.” The band, which also includes C.C. Croxton and Jason Brandum, hasn't wasted a second since signing the contract. They've rehearsed every day until they're drenched, honing a 30-minute set. Clark, who played a number of big stages as a member of Louisville's Elliot, said that the Spurs are focusing on delivering songs with the same aggressive fun and playful sexuality as they do at the Nachbar on a Friday night. “No one's taking off their jeans and putting on a polyester suit,” Clark said. “If you're not doing it in practice, don't do it at the show. I mean, I don't want to say that we're keeping it real, because this is beyond reality.” The opportunity arose when AC/DC's promoter AEG Worldwide contacted local promoter Billy Hardison. The band was picking up local support rather than contracting an opener for just a handful of makeup dates — once common practice but now rare — and AEG wondered if Hardison knew of a local band that might want to make $500. And maybe play for 15,000 people. “I didn't even have to think about it,” Hardison said. Hardison had the pleasure of initiating a series of phone calls that were met with disbelief. He got on the phone with Clark, who was dumbfounded. “Seriously, I just started shaking. It was like being on a roller-coaster and you're going up and up and up and you're about to drop off into the vortex and it's like, ‘Oh my gooooood!' I had to sit down.” Clark called Kramer, who was driving, and made him pull over. But Kramer wasn't having any of it and kept telling Clark to quit kidding and get to the point. He had work to do. “I thought he was so full of it,” Kramer said. “I was like, ‘Oh, yeah. Great; 15,000 people. Super. Book us for it.'” “I had to repeat it so many times,” Clark said, “and finally he believed me and just started screaming.” And by the way, even though they'll have backstage passes, the Spurs haven't given up their tickets. “Dude, I've got seventh row,” Clark said. “I'm there for the show.”

Dude...that's freaking insane. How many people can say that they had tickets for a show, that got cancelled, and then got to open at the makeup show? Not many...and this is opening for AC/DC, not a bad bill to be on.
Thanks, I bought my tickets the morning of the show and was so bummed they had to cancel the show. Now I can't believe I'll be on the stage!!! If anyone plans on recording the show please hook me up! I am in no way going to try and record the show!! Too much at stake!! Any other Louisville people out there? I love this Forum!
