Donington 1991 Master Tracks
I just found a link to download the Donington master tracks from Rock Band. For some reason when I try and download it, it downloads a txt file with a whole bunch of random writing in it. Anyone got any ideas on why it's not working? Or if you have a link for the same thing could you post it? Thanks. BTW, I don't think I can post the link here so if you want the link you will have to PM me
Don't worry, I found a link. If you want it just PM me :)
Yep, and every song has a guitar track (Angus on the right and Malcolm on the left, you can split these so they are separate in Audacity if you want), a drums track, a rhythm track (Bass) and a song track (Vocals). The file type is .ogg
I downloaded all of the tracks and none of them seem to have purely separated vocals. The layout seems to be: drums guitar rhythm song You can hear the vocals on the song.ogg, but they're not separated out. Too bad - if they were, it could make for some pretty cool mashups...
My mistake. I gave it a re-listen and the vocals are prominent in song.ogg. I was kind of hoping they would be completely isolated master tracks for the reasons cited above, but it's still pretty cool.
Yeah, the vocals aren't 100% clean like the ones on youtube, but they are louder in the mix. Drums are isolated fairly well, with a little bit of Brian in the mix. Bass is perfectly isolated. Guitar is as well. Cliff is marked as Rhythm for some reason.
it would be cool if they had these for the studio recordings.
I have all these... An explanation of the naming scheme: First, these are actually files ripped from the disc for a game called Frets on Fire, a really basic open source clone of Guitar Hero that has mods created by the community that adds more GH/RB style features. guitar.ogg is the lead guitar file (or what you play when you select guitar in the game) rhythm.ogg is the bass/rhythm guitar line (dependent upon how the song was split...also dependent upon how the song was tabbed for the game) drums.ogg is the drums file song.ogg is anything not included in the above files...
I thought that it was just Brian's mike picking up the other instruments in the background. @travishayes89 - Thanks for that info!
No problem... I actually have Frets On Fire on my computer (a mod of it called FoFiX or Frets on Fire X) and have the rip of the Track Pack for it. I don't have a PS3/Wii/360 so I don't feel a need to actually buy a game for a system that I don't own, even if it is AC/DC. I don't really like the whole "cart before the horse" type deal. But I can tell you, the songs are fun to play with a guitar controller, but I'd still rather learn to play them on real guitar, too bad my favorite tab guy hosted his tabs through Geocities (which, btw, is another great service of the interwebs to go bye bye because the owner wanted to make more money by forcing their customers to buy something...looks like they should've merged when they had the chance)
Ah well I have Audacity and you can separate guitars but vocals are near impossible. BTW, they're not really master tracks then, are they?
Well, they are listed as "master tracks" and that they were ripped from rock band. Maybe the guys who made frets on fire used the same thing? Anyway, if they aren't master tracks there pretty close, everything is separate except you can hear a bit of the guitar/drums in the background of the vocal track, but as I said before, Brian's mic may have picked that up in the background.
