What's the audio source? Is it PCM or AC3? Only PCM is lossless....all other types aren't.

Clueless to what PCM or AC3 is^^^ but the source is my Iron Man 2 DVD,so whatever that is. It may not be lossless,but it was ripped straight to FLAC and sounds great. If it's not,it's a close as it can be. Still new to ripping DVD's and stuff so,I'm a "noob" I suppose

Think of PCM as the WAV files of DVDs, and AC3 as MP3s. If it's PCM, then great. FLAC would be the way to go. However if it's only AC3, a high bitrate MP3 would do just fine for that, since it's already not lossless anyways. But what the hell, storage is cheap.

I think the DVD is AC3... I THINK...from an analysis of the waveform.
