Iron Man 2
i just got iron man 2 deluxe, CD/DVD, and it has one interesting fact; Bon did play "have a drink on me" with the boys a few days before his death. And aparantly they took all editing off the guitar work, if you read the first paragraph, it says; "by eliminating, with extreme prejudice, all unnecessary evils from their steam-train blues (gloss, restraint, cheap sentiment) and packing every riff, chorus and straight-arrow backbeat" so i think whatever little refining the original studio vertions had, i guess this is just simply the originally recorded riffs without editing. (but in sterling sound). now, i hate rating AC/DC albums cause i like all of them, but if i where to rate this album from a 1-5, id rate it a 4.1 just because it's a really nice collection of their land mark songs, and yet quite not so much a greatest hits collection. with a couple add on like; -guns for hire -cold hearted man -evil walks -have a drink on me plust the DVD was really great, has the ARGENTINA VIDEOS, and some great classic performances. so i guess this turned out more like a revew, but hope it helped you if you were thinking about getting it. Plus the movie was damn good. (the previos was MY opinion.) ride on.
Might buy it when its a just a few bucks, but they should have went and recorded a new song for it like with WMW to make it worth it
May buy it so i can burn it if they give it to me for free. And also it's NOT an album so you cannot rate it and compare it to other albums.
MAN!!! sapator MOST OF THE PEOPLE HERE LIKE AC/DC CAUSE THEY ARE GOOD ARTISTS AND SUPPORT THEM, they wanna make money like every other person in this planet, so please dont be such a negative energy here on "ACDC"-bootlegs.com im not reading this post again, just cause i know youl say some "clever" come back, peace. ride on. AND yes it is an albulm, if not what is it?
Its a compilation of 15 of there best songs (there are quiet a few more) How can I call this an album, when it doesn“t have anything new on it?
I agree with both sides to a point, yeah its an avenue for newer fans to hear older stuff if they havent already done so (but why or how someone should buy I.M. over the original cds or vinyl I dont know, considering the low price of them), but on the other hand, it is a blatant rip-off as there is what? 2 songs or something in the film reportedly, (superheroes not being my thing, unless it gets to tv dont think i will see it). that being the case it would fall into the best of compilation category surely, even tho' it isn't the best of,something someone said a long time ago that ACDC would never do. As for the argument that they want to make money, fine, everybody does, but surely given the worlds economic state where £$£$ is tight, wouldnt a release from the vaults(and the DO exist!) be more commercial and commendable as opposed to a rehash of old songs that for the most part lurked forgotten on the old LPs? Finally,I cant help but wonder, exactly how much money do 5 guys and their families need when they have sold, oh probably in excess now,of 200,000,000 albums worldwide and theyre charging what? approx $100/£70 a ticket for their current tour not including merch. Maybe its just me but I think its true to say, regardless of the size of your home, you only stand in 1 room at a time. Fair enough $$ buy toys, but how many do you need? And personally speaking I would find it a wee bit difficult to spend the amount of cash ACDC have, even keeping up with the interest their wealth generates would be difficult. Just my thoughts you understand, not got a major issue with ACDC.Inc.,as a business model its fantastic and performing well, just dont understand why we need ppink shoelaces and boxer shorts etc,but I dont have a multimillion $ empire so there you go. Peace as always people Dave
esau: Sapator is expressing a feeling of betrayal. As AC/DC have always claimed they are about the fans, he has a perfect right to feel betrayed and to express that feeling. It seems they're in it for the maximum number of bums they can sit in a stadium and 100 bucks/pop without having to do the hard work that other huge bands like Metallica, Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam do of changing up their show once in a while and exploring their back catalog. It's basically a 100 dollar McShow and following all of the non-greatest hits compilation CDs and DVDs which have come out in the last decade which basically amount to a screwing of the hardcore fans, he has every right to vent. The Iron Man 2 compilation would be worthwhile if the songs were actually used in the soundtrack. Because they're not, it comes across as what it is - a cross-promotional cash-grab with no payoff for the fans CD-wise or live-performance-wise.
well RnRDamnation, my friend I gotta agree, saw THE BOSS @ Hampden 2weeks after DC last year, 3 hour set, no support bands, £10 less for a ticket and for my money, his show blew DC's away, more spontaneous, tracks from WAY back when, and..., well, just more of a rock n roll party if you know what I mean, christ, the mans a multimillionaire, the E Street Band members are all 50+,they dont have to do this anymore, BUT THEY DO!!! A CLASS ACT, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
esau31 i don't think you can handle negative opinions. I was good at them (AC/DC) and supported them but enough is enough. Anyway i don't have anything against you but i really cannot argue here with a person that bought this crappy piece of crappness and also gave it a 4.1 outa 5, considering it an album. So when they do the greatest hits give it a 5 and go to bed happy. Peace.
fine i call peace, but if it is these non new materiall releases your against, dont torture yourself. please try to call it quits with negative somments, and ill call quits to my personall responces. PEACE?
New fan vs old die-hard fan argument. Not new but esau31 for the love of the nonexistant thing called god, stop it calling it an album its a compilation. If you feel like rating the songs, listen to the original albums and then restate your oppinion of them.
esau31 i don't have a problem with ya. Of course, can you tell me how to stop the negatives when the setlist is the same again? Are you happy with your favorite band?Hm?
I am not happy anymore. I though they had a common sense. But now they do the same setlist for the open air gigs.
i see the AC/DC concert as a 2 hour time-span when you see the band play their hits, and stuff from the albums, i really dont care for the set list as long as its a 2 hour good time, which for me it was, yes im happy with my favorite band, the whole point of AC/DC to me is good music, good time, and yes, i dont have a problem with you sepator. and as to the iron man 2, it could be an album or a compliation, but any one of thoese i think the gathering of that selection of songs is worth a rating of 4.1 but i cut the tape on this arguement lets just... ride on... ima save my 100th post for something spetiall.
Well obviously we are at different worlds and thought. I respect your opinion, although i think this is the kind of behavior any band would love in order to get more $ by providing absolutely nothing. Peace.
sapator: im not gonna answer for him, but I am happy with my favorite band. I'm not gonna throw them under the bus because of the same setlist for over two years which im happy with, backtracks which is the only bad boxset they've put out, and the Iron Man 2 soundtrack which could've been better if the songs were in the movie but I'm happy with my favorite band. I'm not gonna throw away any chance to go see them like youre doing because you arent happy with no change in the setlist. What's so wrong about seeing those songs that have already been played for the last 2 years? What's wrong with seeing these legends that have made a few bad decisions in the last few months? It's a shame that half the people on this website are abandoning their favorite band because of a few bad choices they've made in the last couple years with the setlist, backtracks, and IM2 soundtrack. It's sad that all these "fans" are stopping being fans of AC/DC because of those things. Its pathetic
Right. It's pathetic. That i choose not to get screwed by them, sony, whoever? Maybe you should first know what fans are we and what we have done for AC/DC and then try to think why some of the biggest and most hardcore fans are bushing the lads. Ok, i'm of cuz i have a life, beyond trying to make you thing of some things.Whatever, love your band, buy anything they give you, adore the setlist and call us pathetic.I'm done with this.Bye.
