Iron Maiden new song "El Dorado"
Not as good as anything off their last album but then again I doubt it's the best song off the new album: Tracklist for new album "The Final Frontier": 1. Satellite 15....The Final Frontier 8:40 2. El Dorado 6:49 3. Mother Of Mercy 5:20 4. Coming Home 5:52 5. The Alchemist 4:29 6. Isle Of Avalon 9:06 7. Starblind 7:48 8. The Talisman 9:03 9. The Man Who Would Be King 8:28 10. When The Wild Wind Blows 10:59 Very exciting stuff (for me).
I hope "The Final Frontier" doesn't mean it's their last album :( I like the song, is there a release date for the album yet?
Okay I just found out, 16th AUGUST!!!!!! Also they are letting you download it for free (just the song El Dorado, not the whole album, lol) here: http://www.ironmaiden.com/thebigbang_2.html
No, Steve said they plan to do more tours and albums.
Iron Maiden are a fine example who, even after they've made it, never stop growing musically and artistically. Let's hope they keep on keepin' on for a long time to come...
Not that convinced of the new song, althought perhaps after I've heard the album it'll be better
Listened to it last night and wasn't really thrilled with El Dorado. In my opinion, every Maiden album after Seventh Son has been hit and miss (except Brave New World). On the matter of whether this is Maiden's last tour or not, this is what Steve Harris and Adrian Smith actually said: Steve: "I always imagined Maiden making 15 studio albums. The new album (The Final Frontier) will be album number 15. I don't want this to drag on forever." Adrian: "I hope Steve isn't serious (about calling it quits after TFF Tour). I think we still have at least three more albums in us." That was from a video posted on Maiden's official website right around the time the Somewhere Back in Time Tour ended.
Well in Greece they are probably the biggest act along with metallica. I don't care but i have huge information about Maiden like it or not so if you want to know something specific ask me and i'll pass it along. On the last album stuff, if i remember correctly, they told me(not the band :P ) that they will supposedly going to stop but noone knows. Not sure cuz i don't care but i think that was what i've heard from inside.
Steve and Janick were on Rockline Radio on the 7th and said they will do at least another album/tour. Yeah El Dorado I'm not crazy about but their singles aren't usually their strongest songs. Also, if you understand the legend of El Dorado it helps. They're playing their first show of the tour as I write this and the setlist was leaked as: 1. Wickerman 2. Ghost of the Navigator 3. Thousand suns 4. El Dorado 5. Paschendale 6. Benjamin Breeg 7. These colours don't run 8. Bloodbrothers 9. Wildest dreams 10. No More Lies 11. Brave new world 12. Fear of the dark 13. Iron Maiden 14. No. of the Beast 15. Hallowed be thy name 16. Running free So far, the first 6 songs have been confirmed to be played so it can be assumed that the leak was correct.
If that setlist is true, thanMaiden has a more intressting one.
Yea thats the right setlist. I think its great, dropped alot of old songs and playing some new classics. I look forward to hearing it live
I think El Dorado is an ok song but I doubt its the best off the new album And Maiden is great and I have the pleasure of seeing them twice this tour( July 11 holmdel, nj and July 12 nyc)
Yep, Maiden are great to their fans. They did a tour in '08 Playing lots of obscure '80s songs as well as '80s classics, and now they're doing newer songs (from 2000 on up) and have even worked in a song of the album coming out in August. AC/DC should be taking notes...
Here's the setlist: http://www.setlist.fm/search?query=Iron+Maiden On certain nights they're playing Dance of Death instead of Paschendale. Also, it seems that they dropped Brighter Than a Thousand Suns for Wrathchild after the first night.
Meh, Wrathchilds a better song anyway. I hope I get to see them on this tour!!
No way, Wrathchild sucks compared to Brighter Than a Thousand Suns. BTATS is epic and probably their best song in 20 years.
Brighter than a thousand suns is like my favorite song.
I'm not liking it that much. I get a feeling the rest of the album will be much better.
El Dorado is imo an okay song. I am still looking forward to the CD
Brighter Than a Thousand Suns is a great song. However, no fan of Iron Maiden would ever claim that Wrathchild "sucks". Unlike BTATS, Wrathchild has withstood the test of time. As far as the Somewhere Back in Time Tour goes, I was disappointed with the setlist. Moonchild was the only real surprise of the tour. A real tour of that time period would have included Alexander the Great, Caught Somewhere in Time, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Stranger in a Strange Land, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, From Here To Eternity, and Infinite Dreams. We really didn't need to hear songs from the first four albums since they did them already on The Early Days Tour.
Haven't seen you on here in a while Dirty Deeds and Money Talks, Hows it goin' man? lol
The DVD from that tour was great though (Flight 666)
@ Flick It's been going alright. Been really busy with some projects I've been working on, so I haven't been on the computer as much as far as socializing goes.
Noticed you haven't been around much, nice to see ya back for a bit.
