Does anyone else have a different mix of the Powerage album on vinyl to what's on the released compact disc version? The CD version contains longer endings and clearer background vocals and generally sounds less produced than my vinyl version.

Thats becuase the CD has wider range of dynamics than the vinyl. So you can here lower sounds much clearly. And you can fit more time on a CD, than they could with a Long playing LP. So thats generally why. They are all the same songs as the LP, Just not as short. Like I stated before. If a CD vrsion is released way later, and there was a original LP version more and likley it was just transfered from analog to digital. Thats it nothing Special done to it, vs/ Original released CD's. They are truly digital sound. So more than likley if there was a Vinyl version first, and the CD does not state Remastered. Its just a copy of the LP on CD (In lamen Terms) Jack

I think he's talking about the European version of this album, which does indeed have different mixes on some tracks. You can find the mp3's of those on the Hub if you look enough, or even take them from the Powerage section of the AC/DC website - if you have the remaster, that is.

Thanks for the info guys. Yea they definitely are different mixes, I much prefer the CD much rawer and loose. I think Powerage is definitely their best album.
